Description

With it’s great value and grip section, enabling fatigue-free writing the Perkeo is perfect for those looking for their first fountain pen or are in need of a work pen to get the job done. To recap briefly; this is a Kaweco’s entry-level offering for those who find the budget version of the Sport a little too diminutive. It is also a medium that is very much serendipity led and the beauty of the final outcomes are often dictated by this.

The cap features the familiar hexagonal cross section of the Sport Classic, with a fluted barrel, but unlike the Sport Classic, this is a full sized pen.Our overall recommendation If you’re penabling a member of the family who’ll prefer to pick up something which looks cool, you could do a lot worse than the pulchritudinous Perkeo. But the new colour-schemes really add something, especially the splendid ‘breezy teal’ and the icily cool demonstrator version with its unusual clear feed. Utilising the signature octagonal cap of their renowned Sport range and coupled with a distinctive 16 sided barrel, the Perkeo Jungle Green has a vibrant, contemporary feel. Certainly, the nibs move across the paper surface with considerable ease allowing more freedom for speed, movement and expression. I feel like I’ve done a near full review but have not yet mentioned why Kaweco have kindly leant us this pen.

If this isn’t quite your cup of tea, but almost… If you like the Kaweco look but want something pocket-sized, of course there’s the trusty Sport – while if you want an entry-level German fountain pen but can’t find a Perkeo, the Pelikano occupies similar territory. The catalogue of the Heidelberg dip pen factory which was later named Kaweco, describes the Perkeo as a convertible fountain pen.

Clear section and feed add to the looks, as does the clear converter and barrel as the ink level drops.

They're all fun and attractive color combos, and it's incredibly fun to mix-and-match the bodies, sections, and caps.My techniques epitomise the whole ethos of ‘less is more’ and demonstrate how much one can achieve using very little. While thin these do seem to be quite effective at stopping the pen body from rolling (when uncapped). Experimenting with fountain pen ink to further its creative potential for use within the visual arts. Mine has a chalky white/grey barrel and a dusty, dusky blue cap, both matte finished, with steel-coloured finial on the cap. The Kaweco Perkeo has been around for a couple of years now and is a decent, affordable, entry level pen, of comfortable proportions.
