There really are eight horses cavorting over a field and a poem in Chinese characters across the top. Most purchases from business sellers are protected by the Consumer Contract Regulations 2013 which give you the right to cancel the purchase within 14 days after the day you receive the item. I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning.

Unlike your experience I now own 10 Chinese pens from Jinhao, Duke, Baoer and Hero and not had a bad pen amongst them. Cleaning the pens, amending the ink channel (a tip gleaned from FPN) all failed to resolve the problem, and I gave up on them entirely. If that fails, briefly wetting the nib under a running tap or in cup of water will usually start the capillary flow. The mediums I received are more of a mini-broad and require much larger lettering than I am capable of. It depends on the filling mechanism, but it mostly comes down to flushing it out with water, and sometimes a little bit of Pen Flush if the ink is really stuck. The barrel itself appears to have fine milling marks going around its circumference, giving it a definite but softened sheen, with chrome looking end caps, clip, and reinforcing rings at the joint.

Without further ado, here's what I like and dislike about it, bearing in mind that these points may or may not be true for different-sized nibs. Nostalgia dictated that I give this pen another try, even though it didn't score perfectly in my original review. My x450 had serious flow issues but after a thorough flush out worked great too (a common problem I’ve read). Just an average guy who reviews a variety of products such as fountain pens, tea, coffee, hairstyle products, writing, bags, everyday-carry, knives and whatever else I can find! I may read up on how the different Jinhao models differ and maybe even pick up a few of the X750s and hold them for giveaways to those I encounter that express an interest in fountain pens.In fact I wouldn't even recommend clipping this pen to something sensitive, like a shirt pocket, because you'll end up ripping it to pieces. I kept hearing great things about them and they are cheap so I ended up with four of them hoping to finally hit a winner.

Maybe it’s something about the sharp corners that limits the flow and maybe the paper isn’t as awful as it seems.

As with many of the other fountain pens in this blog so far, the Jinhao X750 was one of my first fountain pens. This isn’t a problem on most papers such as my bullet journal, but on many cheap papers, it feathers quite a bit. It is easily the biggest nib in my collection and the only ones that match it are probably the nibs from a Pelikan M1000 or other such high-end fountain pen. I have a jinhao x750 also with a medium nib and had the same problem for a while but then I bought a set of . Furthermore, because of your technicolour post of the other day, I found myself strangely - and utterly helplessly - drawn into purchasing an 8nr multicoloured pack of the same!

The sparkles give it a very unique look but its subtle enough not to look like a raver at the next board meeting. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments.

Well, regardless of the opinions of others, I find that the Jinhao X750 is a workhorse pen, one that is cheap enough to pocket carry or lend out to friends for a bit so they can test out a fountain pen. The X750 comes in a blue cardboard box but you might as well throw it away because it's rather cheap-looking. Instead my role is more blue collar with even my paper presenting challenges that will sort lesser pens out.
