The image you show is a painting needing RESTORATION, not REPAINTING (which is what you said in your original reply). It’s the last stretch – seal the back of the sign with a layer of black paint to limit translucency while protecting the coats underneath, and if you wish, a brush-on glass paint sealer. Some folks would say never retouch or repaint, I can hear the screaming now when I say: Since it is a mass produced item, since this is a stencil applied (not hand painted) design, since the value is already reduced from the damage, It isn't a horrid idea to retouch it, imho.
