Description

Seiler has masterful command of a subtle style, both skittish and firm in its diction and movement, tense and tensile in its branching extensions and jittery vertiginous drops. She doesn’t want to betray Midas, even as the more she is given time to think away from her gilded cage, that Midas not be the saviour she once credited him as. Seiler has effectively rewired the lyric for the twenty-first century, tuning the dial of the poetic to its lower frequencies, where the signal can pass through walls. I know there's still a chance she'll grow on me, but it hasn't happened yet, so she better do something really awesome soon. When you let it go, when you finally let that out, your fury is going to light up the spirit you’ve shadowed.

The main focus of Glint is character development, as well as introducing a whole ton of new characters (Lu is my favourite) and taking the time to get to know them. Could it be that cage was built not only to keep her safe from the King's enemies, but to keep everyone safe from her? There was barely any romance in this honestly like it wasn't a huge focus, which I'm totally fine with since all this sets it up for the next book anyways.Step into a new world a realm of dark romantic fantasy in which your wildest dreams, and worst nightmares, come true . Auren doesn't fully trust him yet, especially after that major revelation right at the end, even though she clearly can't help her attraction to him. We continue on the journey with Auren, learn more about Fae and the worlds before and we meet a few new and interesting characters.

The Pacing Is Still Very Slow…While there are some major high points in the story that really add some excitement and unpredictability in the story, it takes you a bit longer than you’d maybe like to admit…. Her growth and realization towards the end that everything she had endured was because of a false love was so powerful yet heart wrenching. Can we talk about Auren going to visit the saddles when she KNOWS they hate her more than anything… why did she do that? That is, trauma recovery is not linear and this amount of time is necessary for Auren to reflect upon her past and recent events.Rooted in Seiler’s childhood home, an East German village brutally undermined by Soviet Russian uranium extraction, these propulsive poems are highly personal, porous, twisting, cadenced, cryptic and earthy, traversing the rural sidelines of European history with undeniable evocative force.

But it won’t be long and I’m so glad I decided to get all the books together because Raven Kennedy as a habit of stopping at the most inconvenient places! Considered Midas’ most treasured, Auren is caged within his palace and is only invited out when he wants to show her off. Much like the last book, the last bit of Glint is where all the tension reaches its boiling point and the excitement finally makes its appearance! The voicing of such vision shifts from ecstatic to abject; the idiom is constantly sliding, smearing, merging to connect phenomena and feeling in work that opens a new approach in the ecological awareness currently driving poetry on both sides of the Atlantic. They breathe dust and dirt, the desolation in minds and homes, the collapse and change, but their form is so strong that something new arises. She may not be able to disentangle herself from her captor just yet, there's much she still needs to come to terms with, but there's still hope for her. We get closer with Auren, learn more of her past and also a bit more about how and why she is special. I kept waiting for this book to build from the previous book but it was happening at much too slow of a rate.

And as if that weren't cruel enough, our minds make sure we relive those moments again and again and again, long after they've passed. While I still cannot entirely blame her, anyone in her situation would put themselves before others, but her behavior is getting on my nerves. It is not included in promotions available to our main range products, as stated in our terms of service. So far, this series has its claws so deeply clutched into me that I can scarcely breathe, that I can’t tell where I end and it begins. The Plated Prisoner series a dark fantasy retelling of the King Midas story follows Auren who for ten years has stood by the side of King Midas. Yes I know, I’m explaining this horribly and a lot of my vehemence stems from me being done with book 3, too, and some things are convoluted.
