Although the decision has been made to make a board based on the Cotswolds, and some landmarks have been deemed as 'likely' to feature, the public are able to have a say on which landmarks they think should be on the game.

The factors that were taken into consideration as regards to this 20-way contest were: Regional Pride; Area Of Outstanding Natural Beauty with eye-catching landmarks; Sense of Family and Community. For the other end of the board, Highgrove may be making an appearance, and would be a steal at just four hundred MONOPOLY dollars. The more people we have signed up means we can keep residents informed about important service information such as bin collections as well as updates on projects across the Cotswolds. Landmarks considered as likely to feature include The Model Village in Bourton-on-the-Water, the much-trodden Cotswold Way and Cirencester Amphitheatre, which could be ‘Old Kent Road’ due to its age.Winning Moves UK has produced dozens of official versions of Monopoly, from Dubai to Dublin and Palm Springs to Sydney. Cabinet Member for Corporate Services, Cllr Lisa Spivey said “Our newsletter, Cotswold Roundup, is a great way for residents to stay informed on what is happening in their district and I would recommend for all to sign up if they aren’t already. In total more than 30 Cotswold landmarks feature in the new edition of the game, including the Cotswold Journal, which occupies one of the Chance card places on the board.

It was announced last year that a Cotswolds version of Monopoly was being created and the public was invited to send in suggestions for places and charities to feature. Shane Samarawikrema, General Manager at Sudeley Castle and Gardens, says: “We are delighted to have landed in the top exclusive set on the new board. The celebrity-studded Cotswolds has won a beauty contest against 19 other AONBs - including Snowdonia, the Peak District, and the Norfolk Broads. With the Cotswolds getting its very own version of Monopoly, three local charities have the chance to be featured on the Community Chest spaces on the board.

These adverts enable local businesses to get in front of their target audience – the local community.other areas of ‘Outstanding Beauty’ across the UK, from Snowdonia to The Norfolk Broads, and the Peak District to the New Forest.

The most expensive property up for grabs is Broadway Tower, while at the other end of the scale is Malmesbury Abbey, filling the space usually occupied by Old Kent Road. The Cotswolds edition was first announced last year, with the public invited to send in their suggestions for tokens, landmarks, and organisations to feature in the game. All the original tokens, including the top hat and boot were replaced, as were all the famous squares like Mayfair and Park Lane which got swapped for leading Cotswolds landmarks. The Cotswolds is getting its very own official Monopoly game, and they want you to help them choose who, what and where is to be included.Other squares feature Sudeley Castle, Tewkesbury Abbey and Westonbirt Arboretum, with more than 30 landmarks included. warns Ella Gibbs, Custom Games Executive at Winning Moves UK, who are producing the game under licensing from Hasbro. Or if you fancy a more relaxed stroll, don’t forget to stop off on the garden colour set and explore the grounds of the Batsford and Westonbirt Arboretums, as well as the 18th-century Painswick Rococo Garden. We are absolutely delighted to be a featured landmark on the Cotswolds edition of Monopoly and a very big thank you to everyone who voted for us to appear in the game.
