It’s entirely overrated - Boudicca Wode smells better, lasts longer and is cheaper if a cannabis note and green scent is what you want.The untraditional hashish scent of this perfume extract is built around oud, spiced with saffron and vanilla, mixed with the power of ambrox: a true tribute to the resinous substance taken from the flowers and leaves of the cannabis plant. A safe (does not have the true green skankiness of hashish) yet still intriguing/sexy masculine scent.

As it starts to dry down you get the cannabis note which is somewhat realistic as it almost smells like some sort of festival.

Black Afgano has such a reputation for ferocity, and I don’t understand that given the largely soft, sweet cloud I experienced. It’s dark, very nutty, just barely animalic and musky, with a tinge of dark leatheriness underlying its glowing, golden heart. However if you're looking for a master perfumer's avant garde masterpiece, consider the numerous other offerings by Gualtieri - I promise you'll find something between both Nasomatto and Orto Parisi that suits your preferences, no matter how strange. One side note: the atomizers for Nasomatto used to be great, but my 2022 batch of Black Afgano has a very banal atomizer (not necessarily faulty, just not one that can be controlled with the smallest "tap" like my older bottles can).I think my home tester is the reformulated version (if that theory is true) and what in the perfumery is the original. This is extremely interesting that both perfumes, regarding aroma-chemicals, are Cedarwood-Sandalwood oriented perfumes.
