For the casual gamer, it may not be worth the extra cost just to flick a few lights on once in a blue moon. com is a leading authority on technology, delivering lab-based, independent reviews of the latest products and services. After using my Corsair K95 Platinum with Cherry MX Browns for some time, I wondered to myself what using other switches would be like, as I bought the keyboard during the first COVID-19 lockdown, and didn’t have an opportunity to test any switches, so I went on a whim and bought browns.

The SteelSeries Apex 7 TKL and the Corsair K63 Wireless are mechanical TenKeyLess gaming keyboards with several important differences. Unfortunately, this wrist rest is a dust magnet, but the overall build feels durable and shouldn't cause any issues with long-term use.The Apex Pro is the flagship product from SteelSeries and is by far the most expensive keyboard they offer. Dynamic Per-Key RGB Illumination Millions of colour options and reactive typing effects make you the designer of your ultimate setup.

These sizes should only be used as a guide, but we would love to hear your feedback on your own personal experience. The Cherry MX Red switches on our Corsair unit are provide no feedback and fairly light to type on, while the SteelSeries Brown switches do provide feedback and are even lighter to type on.

On the other hand, the Apex 7 TKL we tested is a TenKeyLess design, but a full-sized variant, the SteelSeries Apex 7, is also available. The packaging for the keycaps was simple to understand, with UK layout keycaps placed together in plastic trays, which I don’t believe are recyclable, which is something I would like to see more in gaming-equipment packaging, and especially with Razer’s Sneki Snek action for climate change and tree planting.

The SteelSeries has dedicated software for customization, while all programming for the Ducky has to be done on the keyboard itself. The SteelSeries has a much better build quality, and its customization software has a lot more options. Its companion software is also compatible with Windows and macOS, and it has a sturdier-feeling build. On the other hand, the ASUS has a modular numpad that you can put on either side of the board, and you can also remove it if you occasionally want a TKL size. They have an actuation force of 45cN (45g of force needed to fully press down the switch), they actuate at 2.The OLED screen on the Apex 7 is something that never really crossed my mind when purchasing it, but after looking at its features, it seemed like a good addition. One of the problems I encountered with the M750 was the ABS keycaps, and while the font and feel of them were nice, it wasn’t long before my hands started to sweat, and the oils were making my finger grip on the WASD keys slightly slippy. The Apex 3 ranked last on the list because there is really nothing special about it except for the standard features on all of the SteelSeries keyboards.
