Description

In displays, which have a native resolution (the TFT ones, for example), the pixel pitch depends on the resolution and the size of the screen. There are no other features such as card readers, ambient light sensors or motion sensors that can be useful sometimes in office environments. As those specs might suggest, this is a monitor that excels at gaming, with smooth, rich visuals – assuming you have a connected PC with enough oomph to power them. There are a few gaming settings available in the OSD menu including some game preset modes, also nice and easy to switch between using the ‘Quick Switch’ accessory.

GtG stands for Gray-To-Gray and represents how long it takes for one pixel to change between one gray level to the next. Personally having used both options on many occasions, we prefer a curve on an ultrawide screen which helps improve immersion and bring the edges of the screen a little closer to your central viewing position for a more comfortable experience. The backlight adjustment range (184 – 700 cd/m 2) is very wide, probably unnecessarily so at the brighter end of the scale, but very limited at the darker end. The horizontal scan rate/frequency shows the number of horizontal lines, displayed by the monitor per second, when it is plugged to a digital source. At 4K input the Xbox reports that the maximum refresh rate allowed is only 60Hz, which is strange given the supposed HDMI 2.

There are plenty of alternatives, of course, so it's possible you'll find a better value deal for your particular needs somewhere else. On-screen controls are managed with a small joystick on the back of the monitor on the right, or via a small remote control puck you can plug into one of the spare USB ports. Please do not feel any sense of urgency based on our data, we exist only to help you save money in a calm and well-thought out manner. This is actually in quite a tricky place to reach, being tucked quite a long way behind the screen and not easy to use as a result. The maximum number of colors, which the display is able to reproduce, depends on the type of the panel in use and color enhancing technologies like FRC.If you like that more colourful appearance then the screen does nicely here with a wide colour space. The white point and colour temp had improved a little in this mode, now being closer to our 6500K target, and with a slightly too warm 4 – 5% deviance now measured.
