In short, I thoroughly enjoyed reading ‘Moonlight Over Mayfair’ and I would definitely recommend this book to other readers. Historical fiction has always been dividing for me where I have either loved it completely or was bitterly disappointed in it, never finding a middle ground and this book is no different - I loved it! Our team is made up of book lovers who are dedicated to sourcing and providing the best books for kids. Moonlight Over Mayfair” is the second novel written by Anton Du Beke and features the plush London based Buckingham Hotel and it’s Grand Ballroom.

Hot on the heels of his debut album 'From The Top', Anton now realises his boyhood ambition and will be publishing his first novel, 'One Enchanted Evening'. Raymond de Guise, the main character from Book 1, is offered a once-in-a-lifetime chance to go to Hollywood and be launched as a star to rival Fred Astaire. Helene also has her chance of Romance, wooed by a guest, but juggling her clandestine life proves tricky. I enjoyed reading about Raymond de Guise in his first outing and had been looking forward to this follow up, however this second novel felt somewhat rushed and I didn’t feel much for any of the characters this time around.Dance obviously features heavily and in this book, Raymond brings new trends from America such as the jitterbug whilst also enjoying the traditional dances of the ballroom. It’s the second in the series so I’m now desperate to find the first book to see if that helps me understand the book better. At Books2Door, we believe that reading is a fundamental skill that every child should have to help improve their vocabulary, grammar, and critical thinking skills.

Vivienne is the stepdaughter of the hotel’s owner, but has spent her considerable resources and privileged position unwisely on alcohol and worse. She thinks her volunteer work is more important than helping the man she loves achieve the dream he's been working towards all his life? She wants to do something worthwhile with her time and to do something that makes a difference in this world.
