Interestingly, pads of paper were chosen for the game instead of what could have been dry erase maps, since the game only plays up to four players and there are only four maps. Once a space is marked, future moves into the dungeon must be adjacent to any previously-marked square. My six-year-old took long turns, but he picked up what needed to happen just fine, and after our games ended, he just grabbed a fresh sheet and played by himself. Some art, gameplay, or other aspects of the game may change between this preview and the fulfillment of the Kickstarter, should it fund, as this is a preview of a currently unreleased game.

The active player can make any combinations they’d like to form 2 sets of dice, while the other players may only use the white dice unless they’d like to use 1 of their 3 starting black die uses, indicated on the right side under the treasures.

Monsters also have hit points – 4 or 5 smaller boxes in their rooms that you must cross out to defeat them. The passive players (or in the case of solo play, the only person at the table) must use only the white dice to make their pairs, giving the active player the most flexibility each turn.

So really you are still making 2 marks – but man, you really don’t want to put marks on your life meter). After starter squares have been crossed off, it opens a few more squares up, all of which lead to bosses, gems, treasures, and/or map special spaces(different for each map). The box has dozens of sheets of paper, each double-sided and showing one of the four dungeons available.First games feel like rushing towards an opponent who uses your own momentum and body weight against you as he throws you to the ground. In this game, players will explore a Dungeon (from amongst four different choices) made up of a maze of rooms, some with treasure, some with monsters, and some with other special actions inside. I think it only appears in English rulebooks, but we were definitely about to wait until one player has defeated all of the monsters, which would have just resulted in a ton of lost life.

All other players crush it out and they will only score the lesser right bonus when they defeat the monster. If you’re not sure how to get started, check the bottom of the sheet and see what specific benefits exist for your board. The technical storage or access is strictly necessary for the legitimate purpose of enabling the use of a specific service explicitly requested by the subscriber or user, or for the sole purpose of carrying out the transmission of a communication over an electronic communications network. Spaces that are either the starting space or adjacent to a previously crossed out space are available for selection.

That’s maybe a bit more that what most other RAW games are going to take, but there is a lot going on in the dungeon contained on the sheet before you. For you collectors, I’ll warn you now that this is a new alea box size, and it does have a number “1” on the side.

Mostly playing on Board Game Arena, but we’re firmly between Gen Con and PAX Unplugged, so it’s a bit of a holding pattern.
