You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. We were able to get our wind vane up to about 10 feet with Ambient Weather’s EZ-48 Tripod and two extension poles (the max the mount supports).

Your outdoor sensor will connect to an indoor monitor that displays measurements in a standard setup. We recommend the model with the better console and the Access base station for connectivity, but you should also consider the Ambient Weather WS-2902 if you consider the Iris. Includes indoor and outdoor temperature trends and humidity, while the heat index gives you an accurate idea for the feel of the current conditions. The linux system I use for Weewx is QTS 4 from QNAP based on Debian : Weewx is reported to work on the NAS at http://forum.

Quote from: worachj on June 29, 2021, 08:11:32 PM Not sure what you mean when you say "Display and the Acurite Access both show the same thing: -40 degrees"? In our experience, we’ve found AcuRite’s accuracy to score below their competitors, with the notable exception being the Atlas.

The Atlas is currently the only station we recommend, although the Iris is an attractive alternative to the WS-2902. It’s tough for us to truly judge how much better the AcuRite Atlas Elite is because it’s yet to release. But the data is synced slower than others on this list, and getting Wi-Fi set up is more trouble than it should be.You get indoor and outdoor temperatures, humidity, and animated forecast icons on the LCD screen, which is color-coded and large enough to read from across the room. We’ve already noted that the Atlas is a step above the previous AcuRite Pro+ 5-in-1 stations, but we wanted to discuss why briefly.

Drivers usually start life in a user's repo somewhere and once they are considered good enough (ie complete and stable enough) they may be added to the weeWX distribution if there is a sufficient audience. There is also no IFTTT support which means you won’t be able to use your weather data to control smart home devices like your sprinklers.

I'd like to run it on the Beagle Bone so I'll try to get some time to do that and see if I get better results. Even if you live where the climate is pretty steady, the amount of data you can collect with a home weather station is fascinating to explore. If you would like to see how Acurite fits in with other weather station brands, check out my page here. Accuracy is indeed just as good as Davis’ Vantage Vue, and even though smart home support is somewhat lacking, it’s an improvement (the intuitive and easy-to-use mobile platform makes up for it) over previous AcuRite stations. So while the sun may heat up the body of the weather station, the fresh air blowing on the thermometer keeps your temperature accurate.

After all that it now connects to the display but only at -40 degrees and none of the other onboard sensors such as wind or rain seem to work. For some examples of sites other than Weather Underground that you can publish your weather data to check out my post here.
