Montane Ajax GORE-TEX Jacket
- Brand: Unbranded
Description
I would appreciate other suggestions, particularly for jackets that are longer than the usual waist length that has become usual in ultralight jackets. I do run hot and I'm looking for a jacket to be used mostly March to November which from this review rules out this jacket.
On first impressions the Ajax certainly has the feel that it can handle a good amount of abuse, with noticeable toughened areas, especially around the shoulders, where the 70 Denier fabric has been added. Featuring a helmet-compatible hood, zippers for underarm ventilation, and cleverly positioned pockets that offer easy access - even with a harness on. We were skiing untracked, light powder, and despite wind chills around zero Fahrenheit or below hammering us for hours, I felt dry, warm, and almost completely sealed off from the inclement conditions in this all-season shell. We can accept goods back for exchange or refund only if the goods are of re-saleable quality and all labels and relevant paperwork are present. A four-season shell for extreme conditions, it’s one of the toughest jackets on the market, made with 40-denier fabric reinforced with 70-denier fabric in high-abrasion areas: the shoulders, arms and chest.
The helmet-compatible hood is one of the best-fitting you’ll find, embracing and moving with your head, with a stiffened brim that keeps blowing snow and rain out of your face. All HydroDRY fabrics are manufactured to give you, the wearer, the very best in waterproof, windproof and breathable technology.
