You can smell the cherry and vanilla throughout, you pick up silky leather in the background that is made smoother by the vanilla. I find that fall and winter come with a certain smokiness in the air already form people lighting their fireplaces or burning leaves in their yards. This is one of those fragrances that strikes the best balance of being unique smelling compared to other winter designer fragrances, but not in a challenging way. The woodier heart introduces regal cedar and supple leather, complemented by a not overly sweet tonka bean.

I would only rate a scent with a "zero" if it really stinks or if it contains plain water in the flask. I should probably spray this with a heavy hand next time (6-7 sprays), which is something I have to get used to since I'm normally a light sprayer (usually 4-5 sprays max).

I fell in love with the cologne and used it the most although it is a bit sweeter and heavier than most "colognes" i wear. Opening like someone drizzling a mandarin orange over a focaccia with rosemary: it's sweet but has got a touch of savory.

Guerlain l'Homme Idéal EDP starts off as a masterpiece, but as it dries down becomes like 50% incense and not the nice kind of incense that is in Byredo Gypsy Water or even the one in Acqua di Giò Profumo. It's a great scent, but there's something that catches in my throat and makes me feel like my airways are tightening.It's perfectly well rounded by leather and sandalwood in the base which make it the perfect amount of sweet but not cloying. I sampled this, sprayed it on my hand, it actually reminds me of Tom Ford Noir Extreme somewhat, it has the same sort of Smokey Powderyness albeit far more gentle. my favorite part is to say the name that is as impressive as himself when a lady asks for the name of the perfume. It may not last quite as long as before, in all honesty I wouldn't know, but I can definitely still smell it on myself after a long day out (7ish hours) which is a very good sign and is better than a lot of stuff I have worn before.
