I will say this: I found myself incapable of reading a lot before I had to close the book and gaze romantically at the cover, wondering how strange people would think me to be if I up and kissed it. As someone who loves classic Hollywood, I adore her trio of novels named for the glamour girls of Hollywood - Grace Kelly, Elizabeth Taylor, and now, Audrey Hepburn. And if you love to geek out on old Hollywood trivia and/or want to see for yourself the insane amount of research Janowitz completed prior to writing this novel, make sure to read the authors note once you have finished the story.

Audrey Hepburn ❤️ Need I say more? I heard the title and I was SOLD. I absolutely loved this book. Happy almost pub day gorgeous. Tomorrow is the big day! Out 4/18🥳🥳 Thank you so much to @htpbooks @graydonhousebooks for my gifted copy. 🥰🥰🥰 So we’re suddenly in a classic rom-com situation, and their final-scene kisses in the pouring rain becoming the blueprint for the genre, from Four Weddings and a Funeral to The Notebook. The novella meanwhile – despite the frothy, fizzing readability of Capote’s shimmering prose – leaves a more bitter taste, Holly scooting away in a cab never to be seen again. Golightly is a wild thing; there’s no containing her, no making her stay. She keeps on going lightly over the world, even if the need to keep reinventing herself starts to look more like a heavy burden. Brenda Janowitz’s THE AUDREY HEPBURN ESTATE is a truly beautiful novel about the power of home, first loves, and dark hidden family secrets; sprinkled with a little bit of Audrey magic and lots of Easter Eggs…as Janowitz is known for, with her now third Hollywood icon-centered novel after The Grace Kelly Dress and The Liz Taylor Ring. Shows ALL the pictures from the Audrey Hepburn Exhibition by the National Portrait Gallery in London, England July, 2, 2015. In the present, Leo, Henry, and Emma meet again. Emma wants to prevent the house from being destroyed. Several deep and dark secrets from the past can be devastating. There are betrayals, lies, and murders. There are twists and turns. There is also the suspense of stolen art, Nazi and Nazi hunters.

What made Audrey stand out though was her sense of style, her wardrobe was chic and classic. Her simplistic style was unique and her collaborations with her lifelong friend Givenchy made her a Fashion Icon. I think it’s safe to say we all recognise the image of Audrey in Breakfast at Tiffany’s … it’s legendary! Of note, I listened to this book on audio. The narrator, Cassandra Campbell, did a spectacular job bringing this story to life and complimenting the already gorgeous writing. The versatility of her narration helped to create a unique voice for each and every character. Going in I knew this was influenced by Hepburn’s film 🎥 Sabrina. What I didn’t know… is that it was so much more. ❤️

By focusing specifically on the 60s, the book succeeds in capturing Hepburn at the very height of her career and includes photo shoots with some of the most highly regarded photographers. The selected quotes from some of her contemporaries, as well as by Hepburn herself, make this a visually stunning book,” says Elvira Stamper, a book blogger at Next coursework and Writemyx. I flew through the first 1/3 of this book, but the rest of the story really slowed down and began to meander and become repetitive, which lead to me loosing interest. The Ultimate Coffee Table Book– If you are searchingfor a great photo book of Audrey or just in general, then this is the one you absolutely need to get!The Audrey Hepburn Estate When Emma Jansen discovers that the grand Long Island estate where she grew up is set to be demolished, she can't help but return for one last visit. After all, it was a place filled with firsts: learning to ride a bike, sneaking a glass of champagne, falling in love.

Samantha says that accepting what happened doesn't mean that it's okay. It just means that it happened."She discovers secrets which had been kept from her when she was a child, about her own family and is not only devastated by the information, but that it had been kept from her by someone she implicitly trusted. How does she recover?

Gabrielle/Sister Luke is stretched between her desire to be faithful to the rule of her congregation and her desire to be a nurse. As a nun, she must remove all vestiges of "Gabrielle Van Der Mal" and sublimate herself into the devoted bride of Christ. As a nun, there is no room for her personal desires and aspirations. Ultimately, the conflict between her devotion to the Church and the nursing profession, juxtaposed with her passionate Belgian patriotism and her love of her father (killed by Nazi fighter planes while treating wounded) bring her to an impasse, which serves as the dénouement of the novel. If you’re looking for a memoir reminiscent of the Audrey Hepburn film, Roman Holiday, then look no further than Bella Figura by Kamin Mohammadi. This gem of a book tells the story of Mohammadi’s life, following her chance move to Italy. Particularly inspiring are the fantastic characters she meets along the way; from plumbers who teach her how to make pasta al pomodoro to eccentric neighbors who help teach Mohammadi how to enjoy a slower pace of life. Set in Florence, this book brings the famous city to life as she experiences new adventures. I wanted to read this novel because Audrey Hepburn is one of my favorite actresses and I absolutely love the movie Sabrina. The book was rich with references to both Audrey Hepburn and Sabrina, as well as her other movies. There is even a detailed list of Audrey "Easter eggs" at the end of the book! Our Kind tells the story of a group of women who, once country-club housewives during the 1950s, are now left to confront the realities of life as independent and divorced women. An insightful and witty novel, Our Kind, succeeds in capturing the attitudes and experiences of a generation of women. Her life is pretty interesting as she had to cope with the Nazi invasion in The Second World War whilst she was trying to train to become a ballerina. But somehow she ended up becoming one of the best loved actresses of an era if not all time. Audrey The Illustrated World of a Fashion Icon is a stunning illustrated biography of legendary fashion icon and actress Audrey Hepburn from internationally renowned fashion illustrator Megan Hess. But as I continued reading, it seemed less dry and impersonal and more educational. The biography is very comprehensive, extremely well researched, almost academic, and the amount of information gave a surprising insight into Audrey's psyche. The author had great access to a lot of the people in Audrey's life and put in a lot of firsthand accounts from friends and family and a lot of contemporary quotes from the media. I have to say, if you want to read just one book about Audrey Hepburn and learn everything you ever need to know about her, then this is the book. It takes you through her entire life from birth to death and even covers what went on before and after — you get a really great sense of who she and her family were, and that's about as much as you could wish for in a biography.
