To use the spray, first remove the safety clip and plastic cap. Close one nostril by pressing it with your finger. Tilt your head slightly forward and, keeping the bottle upright, carefully insert the nasal applicator into the other nostril. Press down firmly on the pump to deliver the prescribed number of sprays. Do not spray directly onto the middle wall of your nose ( nasal septum). Breathe in gently through your nose and out through your mouth. Repeat in the other nostril. Wipe the applicator tip and replace the plastic cap and safety clip. Avoid blowing your nose for 15 minutes after using this medication. Call your doctor for medical advice about side effects. If corticosteroid nasal sprays are used in high doses for long periods of time, they have the potential to cause side effects similar to those associated with corticosteroids taken by mouth, such as decreased functioning of the adrenal glands (glands that produce natural steroid hormones). These types of side effect are extremely unlikely to occur with this nasal spray, because the amount of beclometasone absorbed into the bloodstream from the nose is very low. However, as a precaution, the lowest effective dose needed to control your symptoms should always be used, and for the shortest possible time. Treatment with higher than recommended doses may result in clinically significant adrenal suppression. If there is evidence for higher than recommended doses being used then additional systemic corticosteroid cover should be considered during periods of stress or elective surgery. A very serious allergic reaction to this drug is rare. However, get medical help right away if you notice any symptoms of a serious allergic reaction, including: rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face/ tongue/throat), severe dizziness, wheezing/ trouble breathing.If your symptoms haven't improved after seven days of using Beconase hayfever ask your pharmacist or doctor for advice. Do not exceed the recommended dose. This is particularly important if you are or have recently been using any other medicines that contain corticosteroids, for example tablets, injections, eye or nose drops, creams, asthma inhalers, or other similar nasal sprays. You may be more likely to get side effects if you're using more than one type of steroid medication and your doctor may want to monitor you more closely. People who are or have recently been using any other product containing a corticosteroid, including creams, ointments, tablets, asthma medicines, eye drops or other nasal sprays or drops. If you forget to use your nasal spray just leave out the forgotten dose. Don't use a double dose to make up for a missed dose. Before having surgery, tell your doctor or dentist about all the products you use (including prescription drugs, nonprescription drugs, and herbal products).
