A pneumothorax can be divided into two broad categories: traumatic (including iatrogenic) or atraumatic. Atraumatic pneumothorax can further be categorized as primary spontaneous or secondary spontaneous. Lung ultrasound can be used without complex adaptation from the intensivist to anesthesiologists, pediatricians, neonatal intensivists, emergency physicians, and others (cardiologists, pulmonologists, nephrologists, etc.), even out-of-hospital doctors [ 57].
