You’d better believe there’ll be new models – there’s a massive new launch set on the way – and we might be biased, but we think it’s the best Warhammer box ever. Whether they carry their traditional gauss flayers or the shorter-ranged but harder-hitting gauss reapers, phalanxes of Warriors are the inexorable mainstay of any Necron legion. Indomitus contains twenty of these fantastic new models, a fresh take on the classic Necron complete with pitted and scarred armour and plenty of battle damage from one-too-many reanimations! Without the full weight of the war machine to call upon, Imperial commanders dispatch elite strike teams in a desperate bid to stem this endless tide of Tyranids. Taking out the synapse leaders will buy precious time for the lumbering might of mankind’s war machine to mobilise. I enjoy the wealth of options the come with, I find them easier to break into sub-assemblies for painting and I like that I can customise and project a bit of personality on to them.

This is a very basic intro modelling set, but offers a bundle of some test models and a good spread of paints for the “standard” Necron color scheme. With 6 paint colors, 3 models, and a brush, this set works out to about the same amount as if you bought them on their own, although the Agrax Earthshade and Tesseract Glow containers are smaller than the retail versions which are more expensive so separately you’d get slightly more paint for slightly more money. My real hope is that we see all of this and more in an updated version of Warhammer Conquest Magazine – I mean, that sold so well and Mortal Realms Magazine is doing pretty good too.
