The libraries all either say it's mature or for like 15 years old and up but really it's not even that mature. I do feel like adults like to exaggerate the amount of graphicness in books like these because they don't want their kids to know about these things because they feel like they're too young to be exposed to these kinds of things.

Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas - LoveReading4Kids

The series is great in the first book and the prequel, I didn't particularly enjoy the second book, but in the third book, heir of fire, the plot just changes entirely. From badass assassin fighting for her freedom to faerie queen fighting against evil. I didn't really mind the switch cuz I'm into that stuff but I know a lot of people hated that the dynamic changed so much, so beware of that. If you like the kinds of books that I described, then I think you’ll like this series as much as I did. What are these books about? Do you like to develop your skills and compete against others? What's an interest you're pursuing, and what are you doing to pursue it? I do find that at a certain age yes they should be shielded from these things but as they grow older you need to give your kid more leeway because they will eventually grow up. It is fine for 6th graders, maybe 5th grade at the youngest. Well, I mean, it's young adult, so the age group it's targeted at is 12-18. I've read it, and it's a good book (I'm in eighth grade); I have friends in seventh grade and they think it's a good book. So I'd say 12+ but I guess it really depends on the individual reader because I know that I have other friends who are really sensitive to this kind of stuff. In the third book ( Heir of Fire), Sarah Maas starts some real work on a pretty serious and more lasting connection for the main female character. In the remaining books, what was built in book 3 continues, but most of the tension in those books is not generated between the main male and female characters. Some YA books focus on the mostly innocent tension between tweens and teens, or move towards kissing as the culmination of the physical relationship between the characters. Example 2: Nesryn. I really liked this character, she gave me some kind of Katniss Everdeen vibe. the thing is she was only in the series for Tower of Dawn and Kingdom of Ash I think. Epic, witty and brilliantly plotted ... I am one of the thousands of people who read this book on fictionpress several years ago and fell in love with it, and I am counting down the days until it gets published A fan on Goodreads Do know that as you read the more recent books there is more swearing like b tch and bast rd but that's about it. The sex scenes are a bit cringe but it's not graphic. I mean, Dorian is into some weird kinky shit but yeah that's about it.

Throne of Glass: Throne of Glass, Book 1 - Common Sense Media

Do you think magic is an important thing to have in your life? If you do, how do you find and keep magic? After that, I would probably say Queen of Shadows (book 4) is my next favorite, followed by the first two books, then the series finale (book 7), then book 5, and then book 6. No, it’s not. It’s very violent and chances are they are going to want to read more books in the series. It depends on their maturity but I wouldn’t want my 10 year old sibling to read this. As children they will break down everything they read and won’t stop thinking about it. Unless they have a clear idea on what sex and violence is like, wait a bit to read. There are still some gore filled scenes. Probably wouldn’t want a child to be reading of people getting their heads chopped off very vividly. I get bothered by YA books that are too focused on a teenager’s will-we or won’t-we kiss turmoil. I’m ready for the action! Anything you didn’t like about the books?Celaena is a trained assassin, the best of her kind, but she made a fatal mistake. She got caught. Young Captain Westfall offers her a deal: her freedom in return for one huge sacrifice. Celaena must represent the prince in a to-the-death tournament - fighting the most gifted thieves and assassins in the land. Live or die, Celaena will be free. Win or lose, she is about to discover her true destiny. But will her assassin's heart be melted? About This Edition ISBN: Is the series perfect? Nope. Could the books have been better in places? Yes. Was there some editing misses? Sure. Having waited for a long time to see on Sarah's blog that this would be published, I almost started crying when I found out it would be - the only reason I didn't was that I had gone quite numb from excitement A fan on Goodreads

Well as long as the kid is mature enough to not make a big fuss about what is in that book (which is mostly kissing and blood and no sex)Common Sense is the nation's leading nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of all kids and families by providing the trustworthy information, education, and independent voice they need to thrive in the 21st century. Did you know you can flag iffy content? Adjust limits for Drinking, Drugs & Smoking in your kid's entertainment guide. Get started Close Personally I love romance so this series is amazing to me, but if the child doesn't like/understand romance they they probably wont like this. I know it sounds weird but many of the romantic scenes from the fifth book up may scare sheltered children.

Now this is a more suitable age. Again it depends on maturity. Kids are usually in 7-8th grade at this time. I would say wait until 8th grade because this is before a kid goes to high school and life will be more interesting. I feel as a more mature and knowledgeable person I can appreciate the book better. But there are some parents that are very protective from letting their kids know about... you know... se x and if this is the case I would wait until the parent, possibly you, think that this knowledge is ready to be shared. Although the book can be unsettling at times when it hits you hard on what se x actually is. Sarah J. Maas is a New York native who currently lives in the California desert. This is her first full-length novel to be published, though she already has a large online fan base, many of whom discovered the Throne of Glass world in its first incarnation, on www.fictionpress.com, when Sarah was just sixteen. This is where it reeeally depends on maturity, I read this as a mature 12 year old. Was I ready for this if I was 11.... most likely not. If as a parent you aren’t ready to answer questions on why the characters took their clothes off, or as a kid you want to keep your innocence a bit longer, I wouldn’t read. But it’s really an amazing book SJM is an amazing writer. It’s up to you to decide though.Like Cinderella's love story and the action and competition of The Hunger Games ... then this is the spectacular book for you! This book is going to be HUGE Dark Readers
