About this deal

I bought this iem with my own money. My opinions are my own. We’ll talk about the twist in the summary. The SeeAudio Yume are the first pair of IEMs by SeeAudio. They are a pair of hybrid IEMs, with 1 dynamic driver and 2 balanced armature drivers. As expected, the dynamic driver is for the low end, while the balanced armatures handle the midrange and the high frequencies. This sort of setup is pretty standard these days.

The coherency between the two balanced armatures and one dynamic driver is quite excellent, I can’t quite point out where the balanced armature or dynamic driver ends. The overall presentation of bass, midrange and treble is smooth and free of any driver phasing inconsistencies. Mids on both are slightly recessed but Legato does in better in terms of vocals for both female and male, whereas Rinko tends to favours female vocal more than male vocalThe Rinko adopts a newly-developed 6mm micro planar magnetic driver unit on each side. This driver features an ultra-thin diaphragm with dual magnets placed in parallel to it. The magnets produce a strong flux and a swift movement of the diaphragm resulting in a clean and precise sound performance with lower distortion!! There is a rumor that SeeAudio was started by ex-qdc engineers and I personally get that rumor because their tuning is in qdc’s blood. Huge thanks to HiFiGo for providing the opportunity for me to review the Seeaudio Rinko. I really do appreciate it. However, all thoughts and opinions are my own, and are not influenced in any way. Tip Selection - Its tip selection is Limited and only has 3 sets of tips included with it. I look at 20 dollar sets and find they have 6 or 7 sets with them, and I just feel this isn’t enough for a 100-dollar iem. I had to use tips from other iems, to get a good fit for myself. Not sure if this is a zeos or Seeaudio decision, but it's a very poor decision and will ruin this delightful iem for others. I am fancy, I tip rolled, but that saved this iem for me.

Carrying on, the foam of the eartips is very slow to return to it’s original state, leaving a weird emptiness between the silicone and where the foam should be as both parts are not bonded. My understanding is that the "Micro Planar Magnetic Driver" is a new type of Planar Driver that "specializes in a specific frequency band" and I actually realized how good it is when Rinko's sound was tested. The midrange is hit or miss, they don't have a natural presentation of real instruments or vocals. They tend to add this strange sense of volume and extra layering over the instruments, which while interesting feels quite artificial and gets a bit tiring over time. Your playlist. It is referred as “6mm Micro Planar Magnetic Driver (MPMD hereunder)” and this specific driver brought a series of discussions over the internet about whether 6mm MPMD is a legitimate Planar or not.I’m definitely not the first to report on the Yume’s subpar technicalities (at least in comparison to its outstanding tonality) so if anything I’m on the bandwagon. So if you’re someone expecting the Yume to be some A-tier or even S-tier contender for a stupid-low price, I preemptively apologise for shattering your hopes and dreams. After all, if it’s too good to be true… The Sony is noticeably warmer than the Yume, and their bass response is fuller, deeper, and more powerful. They have punchier bass, better layering, and they sound more engaging. The Yume, on the other hand, have a more calm bass performance, with slightly better clarity down low.

Disclaimer, I'm a Zeos patron and like others here, got the chance to get them for a discount as a review pair: I've had mine for a few days and my initial impressions are pretty good, although there are a few elements to it I don't like. if you want to minimize bass use any silicone tips ,it will reduce bass thus might be into your likings territory . Overall, the SeeAudio Rinko IEMs offer a fun and enjoyable listening experience for those who prioritize a V-shaped sound signature over a more natural presentation. While they may not be the most accurate IEMs out there, they provide good value for the price and are a decent option for those on a budget.I Will Survive (1981 recording, I like her voice, and the old vocals, the drums, and various natural instruments really make this a favorite for me.
