About this deal

I received a copy in exchange for a fair and honest review on my blog Nayu's Reading Corner http://nayusreadingcorner.blogspot.co... The rhymes were good, the beginning tied up well with the unravelling of the finale, and there was lots and lots of poop, which grossed me out, but I'm sure young children would find hilarious. There were three dinosaurs called A, B and C, who ended up losing their world but didn't really seem to care which I also found to be a strange message, but again, young children wouldn't likely notice. I put all the ingredients into a saucepan and gently heated the concoction until it started to look like playdough. I removed it from the heat and let it cool down before lightly kneading it and adding some mixed spice. This gave it a slightly darker colour and also a lovely smell. Using the poop equation, we can work out the size of the croc who made Precious - it was 6.5m (21 ft) long! 😲 The first coprolites were discovered by Mary A nning in the early 1800’s who theorized that the strange “poop shaped” fossils she found were actually the fossilized poop of dinosaurs…the ichthyosaurs and plesiosaurus.

Other dinosaur coprolites have been found with plants inside, and one even contains decomposing wood – a sign that the dinosaur was supplementing its nutrition with fungi and bugs that feed on rotting logs. How does poop become a fossil? When the conditions are just right, it happens just like any other fossilization process. The process is very similar to how petrified wood is made.Welcome to the gingerbread house blog. That is why understanding where your specimen was discovered and what kind of geology resides there is so important! Composition We discovered The Dinosaur That Pooped … series last year and since then the books have been a firm favourite with my two. The Dinosaur That Pooped Christmas made it on to our list last year and will definitely be included this year too. We’ve made a few dinosaur crafts but we wanted to make something special to accompany this festive favourite – dinosaur poo playdough! The Dinosaur That Pooped Christmas Just like modern day animals, some prehistoric animals ingested stones for ballast or digestive purposes. These are known as gastroliths which can also be found in coprolites. If present, they generally have a smooth surface. Looking Under A Microscope While swinging around they pass the Romans, Egyptians and Greeks before the swing breaks and they end up in the Jurassic Period where they meet 3 little dino babies. Some coprolites have some crazy stuff found inside of them such as fish scales, plant material, bones and teeth! It’s neat that we can see these things inside an animal’s poop that lived millions of years ago. The Dinosaur that Pooped a Planet and The Dinosaur that Pooped Christmas are firm favourites here, so this latest instalment had a lot to live up to. It's another brilliant read- children will love it and adults will be grossed out by it. But when you've finished you'll have a smile on your face, whatever your age. Burrowing causes the poop to break down and create nutrients for the soil. These nutrients help other plants grow faster. 🌱🌿 Although a T. rexpoo in itself is interesting (or perhaps disgusting, depending on your sensibilities), this fossil is also important. It’s full of chunks of bone, which tell us that T. rexcould bite so hard that it crushed the bones of its prey – a highly unusual way of eating with no obvious modern equivalent.

This time it is Granny's 1008th birthday and she makes Danny and Dinosaur a big feast of eggs, broccoli and sprouts and she won't let them leave until they have eaten everything on their plates, Danny doesn't want his so the Dinosaur eats both of their party food. We can also learn that they weren’t able to properly digest all of the bones as little bits can be seen all along the surface of Barnum! If the calcium phosphate takes a harder, more dense form, the “wet finger test” won’t work. In some instances, chemical analysis is required to definitively identify the mineral composition. What Are Coprolites? We also hadn't realised that the book was one of a series until we'd finished it, and as a standalone it left a lot of unanswered questions related to the gran's obsession with green and the existence of the magic swing. I’ve been sorting out our Christmas books trying to get a head start on our annual Book Advent. The kids love our Book Advent and I have as much fun choosing which books make the list as they do actually reading them. When this poop was fresh in the water, it probably gave off a strong smell that made it seem like a yummy meal. 😍
