The book was cringe, has a lot of plot holes, was slow paced and has more filler chapters rather than the the relevant ones. The author wasn't very experienced judging by their writing style. There are a lot of grammatical errors, spelling mistakes. A lot of people cried when Sofia died but I didn't even feel sad, I never felt a connection towards the characters because I found them very annoying, Sofia especially. Ace was more like a side character with no importance, whenever there was any mention about his childhood or his past with his evil father, it would always end up being about Sofia and Ace wasn't given much attention and I think it should have since the whole book is basically named after him. Then when I was about 14 I read the book, and it blew my mind. I decided there and then that a dream of mine would be to illustrate it someday, and decades later that dream came true. It had been a while since I read the sequels, so when I finished re-reading [ Dune Messiah] and [ Children of Dune] for this job I continued, and am now enjoying God Emperor of Dune again. This book was genuinely so bad and so cliche and so horrible that I had to wash my eyes with soap after reading this. At this point, I am just questioning every single person who finds this book goods taste in reading bc this just isn't it. 1. this girl has a dad in the mafia and she IS in the mafia and she is such a damsel in distress. She stutters every 5 seconds, acts like a 5-year-old and is so abused but can't stop it??? Girl, you. Are. In. A. Mafia. Act like it. 2. Though she is such a damsel in distress, she can still throw knives like a pro!! Omg!! Who woulda thought!! Well throw one at your dads head, kill him and take over his position then???? This girl did not use her brain even once throughout this book and had people saving her ass every five seconds. For all intents and purposes, this book deserves an objective 1 star. The writing was absolutely horrible. The amount of typos, spelling errors and just oversimplicity of the writing makes it unenjoyable to read. It soured even the best moments in the book. Also it kept switching from present to past tense 😒Sadly, it's one of the many downsides to being apart of the biggest mafia's in the world; if they're able, they will watch you.
