About this deal

The 2-in-1 design features a 12x magnification rate, powerful enough for concerts, sports events or birdwatching. You can take pictures or shoot video thanks to the 8 MP camera that delivers still, clear, sharp, and high-quality images. If you are looking for a binocular repair manual and a perfect book to learn everything, I will highly recommend you choosing, using and repairing binoculars by J.W. Seyfried. You just need to learn the things I will be sharing with you, and having read this Binocular Repair DIY guide you will say bye to that expensive optic repair shop forever!

Focusing: Ease of focusing is an important factor to consider when choosing a pair of binoculars. When evaluating focusing, most binoculars use a central focusing knob that you turn while looking through the optic. Getting the sharpest focus possible may require very fine adjustment. This can be done in several ways. You can increase the number of revolutions that it takes to focus, making the adjustment finer. This slows down the focusing process. Extra time needed to focus can mean the difference between getting a good view of a moving object or not. Exit Pupil: Magnification and the size of the objective lens determines the size of the exit pupil. You can see the exit pupil by holding the binoculars at arm's length and looking at the eyepiece. That round dot of light is the exit pupil. To compute the exit pupil, you divide the diameter of the objective lens in millimeters by the magnification. For our 8X42 binoculars, we would divide the objective lens 42mm by the magnification 8, or 42/8 for an exit pupil of 5.25. If we look at a pair of compact binoculars, say a pair of 8x25, we would have an exit pupil of 8/25=3.125.Mostly there are 2 screws on each prims (4 in total), one is to increase zooming power and other is to align the path of light. If you’re looking for a lightweight and affordable product, keep on reading this Vivitar binoculars review to find out why this Classic Series model is the right choice. It wasn't until the middle of the 19th century that people started using prisms. The first prisms used were the pro prism, invented by Ignazio Porro. The Porro prism allowed for the long focal length of the Keplerian Optics by folding the optical path. By combining two pro prisms, it increased the focal length while flipping and righting the object. This allowed for a more compact and manageable size. The double Porro prism gives most older binoculars that classical look.

The item allows you to see everything nature has in store with the help of a 5x magnification rate. The binoculars are built for up-close viewing, so they represent a good investment regardless of your choice of outdoor activity. Excessive use of the focus knob results in friction. If the grease (the lubricant used to ease the movement of screws) fades away with time, you will face trouble in focusing through your binoculars. This problem can be repaired very easily at home (in fact this is the easiest one). I still need a pair of binoculars, though. I need very lightweight binoculars if I can afford them. That was the attraction of the 4x30 Vivitar for me. Oh, well, the grandsons were pleased. Read full review

Choosing the Right Binoculars

I do not consider myself up to rating these binoculars because I don't know how I could judge them rating-wise. But since you insist that I give them a rating, I have rated them average. If you're looking for something with greater than 12x magnification, binoculars may not be for you. Above that mark, hand shake becomes unwieldy, even for the steadiest hands in the west. At that point, you'll be looking at a tripod-mounted spotting scope instead. Don’t settle for cheap Vivitar binoculars if you care about your eyesight and the clarity of the image you are going to see through the lenses of your gadget. The magnification rate is one of the most important characteristics of binoculars, so choose wisely, according to your requirements and budget. Compared to other 8×40 binoculars, this product seems to truly deliver the 8x magnification, allowing you to see far objects clearly.
