About this deal

Just run the vacuum over them and they’re cleaned up! No need to get out a mop and spread it around the floor. I found it was great not only at removing condensation but also cleaning up the shower after I used it. The glass was clean and streak free and the bathroom “defogger” a lot faster due to their being less moisture. The intelligent combination of spray bottle and wiper guarantees extremely effective cleaning. The handy device then has no trouble vacuuming away the water from the window every time you use it – with no dripping dirty water and no streaks. When compared with conventional methods, manual cleaning is noticeably easier and three times faster than before. The convenient battery operation and the compact design guarantee maximum flexibility when cleaning household surfaces. Features & Benefits: Some models, such as the AEG Window Vaccan achieve around 60 mins of running time from one charge. This can be useful if you have several cleaning jobs to be doing in one day, although normally 30 minutes is more than enough for the majority of tasks. Another great factor is the clear battery life indicator. I have problems with this on thecordless Shark vacuum I tested. I was never looking directly at the charge indicator so it normally takes me by surprise when the battery runs out. Not so with the Bosch. A clear charge level so it won’t let you down when you need it.

The edge guidance function is another useful feature. This allows you to adjust the edge manually, so the machine cleans right up to the edge of windows. It comes with a sample of the cleaning concentrate which I’d probably try out before committing to a big bottle, it works quite well just make sure you read the instructions! None of that would matter if the Karcher didn’t clean windows brilliantly – and that’s where it really excels. Suction is strong and efficient right across the nozzle, so you can clean and dry into the silicone seal around your windows. The finish is about as streak-free as a window vac can achieve, although you may want to give your glass a final buff with a dry kitchen towel. Another useful extra is that the WV 6 Plus N comes with both the regular 280mm suction nozzle and a smaller option. This, combined with the spray bottle kit and long battery life, makes it one of the most versatile window vacuums on the market.Kärcher are kings of the non-professional window vacuum cleaner world – and the WV2 Plus is our favourite model. It’s been significantly upgraded compared to the original WV2 Kärcher window vac, including a longer 35 minute run-time and lightweight design. This allows it to clean up to 105 square metres on a single charge – which should be more than enough for most household jobs. Tip: If you can hear a squeaking noise as you vacuum the surface, the surface isn’t wet enough. This can lead to streaks. You shouldn’t hear any squeaking when using the window vac. Extra Cleaning Tips If you have small windows you might need a smaller blade attachment, if so then you definitely want to go with a Karcher, they’ve got a handy small head that clips on nice and easily. Brand

We select top-selling window vacs from leading UK retailers and put them through a string of tough tests to find out which are the best. It’s got an easy empty dirty water tank and works effectively not just to give you clean windows but tiles, showers too. and flat surfaces like worktops too. Brand isn’t absolutely necessary as there are some really good off-brand window vacuums but if you get a Karcher for instance you know you’re getting some serious cleaning power. Common Window Vac Mistakes A spray bottle with a microfibre cleaning head comes included, as well as two differently-sized vacuum blades. These measure 17 cm and 28 cm across, making them slightly larger than the blades supplied with Bosch’s GlassVAC machine. I prefer the Karcher because it’s a well known and more trusted brand but this one is a little cheaper and well worth a try if you want to save a little money. ConclusionThere are of course other great rechargeable window vac’s such as the Bosch Glassvac, the Karcher WV1 or the anniversary edition, and the Leifheit but I’m happy with my choices. Here are a couple of extra tips for achieving a streak-free finish on windows and mirrors when using a window vacuum. Post-Clean Buffing It also comes with a smaller cleaning blade, for easier cleaning in corners, and a microfiber cloth. A minor downside is that it takes around 185 minutes to charge, although this is the same as the WV2 (but longer than the WV1 and WV6.) It’s also a bit more expensive. If you’re looking for a budget window vacuum, then an alternative to the Kärcher window vac range is the Vileda WindoMatic. With enough battery to clean up to 120 windows on a single charge, it’s great for cleaning all the windows in a home in a single session. It also provides decent cleaning performance and suction power, along with a “MAX” mode for an extra boost in suction. Weight and capacity: A kilo may not feel like much at first, but after half an hour of holding the unit at arm’s length it will start to hurt – especially when it fills up with 300ml or so of dirty water. The bigger the tank, the more cleaning you can do without having to stop and empty it, but the heavier it will get. So, tank size is less important than leak-proofing and easy emptying. What extra features and accessories are worth having? But get a window vac for condensation and your windows will be clear and free. Streak Free Windows Inside and Out It can take a bit of trial and error to work out how to most effectively use a window vacuum. Whilst all styles are a little different, there are some common steps to follow across the board. Once you get the hang of the cleaning process, it’ll be easier to produce a streak-free finish on windows and mirrors. What’s more, if the battery is removable, you can even interchange it with another charged battery when the first one runs out of power. In this way, you can use the window vac for an extended period of time without having to stop to wait for the only battery to recharge. Time to wash your windows? If your kit came with a detergent, dilute the solution with water in a spray bottle. Otherwise, use a store-bought glass cleaner for best results. Unwanted Food or Drink Products - Once supply conditions are broken, there are a number of factors outside of our control that can affect the quality of a product. Therefore perishable goods such as food and drink cannot be returned. I feel I should point out that it only works on hard floors… A window vac is not much use on carpet! Although full disclosure, I spared myc arpets the torture of glass of water poured on to them to test this out… Condensation
