About this deal

I forgot to add that because ordinary kerosene (red colour in ireland) had been used in the heater previously, the service company decided that they would not service my heater any more! So thank you so much for the youtube video and step by step dismantling and service tutorial. It’s just what I needed to let me do my own service. They are a fantastic heater made all the better by the fact that you can burn the cheaper 28sec fuel after all.

The difference is that kerosene has a much higher sulphur level, so while you could prolly burn it, I dont think that the fumes would be nice. The price of paraffin goes up again this week, further putting pressure on poorer households. The price of a litre of paraffin will increase by R2,66 following multiple increases over the past few months. Polluting: Paraffin releases harmful pollutants such as carbon monoxide and particulate matter, which can exacerbate respiratory illnesses.National Institute of Standards and Technology; U.S. Department of Commerce; 100 Bureau Drive; Gaithersburg, MD 20899 USA. Last accessed: 29 August 2020 (nist.gov). The problem with the paraffin heaters that although they are economical, they are quite pricey (almost twice the price than in Japan) and the "recommended" fuel cost nearly 2 times more than the regular C1 paraffin/ Kerosene which these machines are made for. (Again in Japan where these unit are the main form of heating, people just get that fuel from the petrol stations) That is because the vendors want to earn money, after you bought the unit instead of you going to your local heating fuel supplier. The main selling point of these very expensive fuels that apparently they are odourless. However most of the people says that the normal C1 fuel is not bad at all apart from the times when you start/ stop the machine. This however will turn out quite soon as I will test both. We have a wee baby so for us it is important. Thus, we come to the end of our article on "How Much is Paraffin Per Litre? 🤔 Unbelievable Savings Revealed! 💷" and we hope that we have been helpful in solving your doubts about the cost of this essential commodity. We have reiterated the importance of knowing the cost of paraffin per litre, especially in these times where every penny counts.

Researcher, Nkosinathi Majozi says times are tough for many, with increasing fuel prices also impacting taxi fares and the general prices of goods. In National Treasury’s 2021 budget, it was announced that motorists will pay an inflation-related increase of 15 cents/litre in the general fuel levy and a higher-than-inflation increase of 11 cents/litre in the Road Accident Fund levy. Paraffin is the stuff you burn indoors, however in the UK kerosene normally refers to 28 second home heating oil, the same stuff as people run there boilers with in remote areas. Surely it should cost less than petrol. More than 60p of the petrol price is tax, so the actual fuel costs 30p a litre or less. Obviously there is far more competition in petrol prices, but even doubling it gives 60p per litre, and that is much as I would have expected to pay.

Will. That is unfortunate, you must be overly sensitive or allergic to small amounts of kerosene fumes, which in my experience are only given out during the start / stop cycles – its worth noting that some people feel ill or suffer itchy / running eyes around portable Calor Gas fires for the same reason whilst many others are OK with them, and the same applies here. As per the theme of the blog, I’ve been using two heaters on 28 second domestic heating oil since 2010 without any ill effects to either the heaters or myself, and my experiences were so favourable that I even went to the expense of hosting and authoring a blog around the subject!, which rest assured I wouldn’t do if they had made me ill. In South Africa, paraffin is mostly used in impoverished and lower-income households as a way of heating homes and cooking food. This is more common in colder, winter months and at night, when paraffin lamps, heaters, and stoves are often the only source of heat in these households.
