About this deal

If you couldn't find a small, cheapo brush to use, you could make a brush like I did. To make the brush, I ripped off a corner piece from a sheet of paper and covered the corner with Scotch tape. This is so that the tip wont break apart from being soaked with glue. I then rolled the piece of paper around a pencil so that the corner hung off the end of the pencil. You can see in the picture that the paper forms to any surface it is pressed to, making it ideal for applying glue. I cut a circle of plastic bag about 10 inches in diameter, and put 8 pieces of duct tape around the circumference of the circle. These were reinforcement for the 8 slits I cut around the circle for the parachute lines. I cut out 8 pieces of line, about a foot and a half long. You can really use any sort of thread-like material. I was in a pinch so I used dental floss! I tied the strands through the slits with a square knot, then tied all 8 lines together. After testing the parachute to make sure it worked, I folded it up and stuffed it inside the body tube. You'll want to use some recovery wadding, inflammable paper, to prevent the parachute and other internals from burning up. If you don't want to buy some, you can make your own with this Instructable. Stuff the wadding in first, then the parachute. Here's where you'll need to break out the compass. After I did some calculations, I found that a cone approximately the height of 4 inches could be achieved by using 4" radius circle. Complicated, isn't it? Using the tin snips or metal cutters, cut a piece of sheet metal to create a tube that will serve as the combustion chamber. The diameter of the tube should be slightly smaller than the diameter of the can, and the height should be slightly shorter than the height of the can. For example, if you're using a coffee can that is 6 inches tall, the chamber should be around 5 inches tall. Use the tin snips to cut the sheet metal to the correct size, and then roll the metal into a tube that fits inside the can. Step 3: Cut holes Heat a tablespoon of the oil and fry your sausages. When browned, remove from the pan, cut into chunks and set aside.

The semicircle should begin to look like it's curving into a cone shape. You can begin making the cone tighter, working it until it matches the diameter of the body tube. Use clothespins to hold the cone in place while you glue the flap down. Now when you blow up a balloon, the air makes the balloon stretch bigger and bigger. But the little film canister doesn't stretch and all this gas has to go somewhere! Take the can with the intact bottom and cut a hole (the diameter of a small tin) close to the base. The avionics bay is somewhat straightforward to assemble. Figure out what all you want to fly, position them on the avionics bay sled, and add some walls and harnesses to keep everything in!

When the fizzy tablet is placed in water, many little bubbles of gas escape. The bubbles go up, instead of down, because they weigh less than water. When the bubbles get to the surface of the water, they break open. All that gas that has escaped from the bubbles pushes on the sides of the canister. This can make it difficult to maintain the appearance of the stove, and it can also make it difficult to ensure that the stove is safe to use. To test the pins and charge, you can use a vacuum taped to an avionics bay access hole to simulate the decrease in air pressure experienced during flight. My altimeter said it got all the way to 580 feet during the ground test! Also, you will need to add a plug to the end of the motor retainer for testing the separation charge. This can just be a piece of wood the same shape and size as the bottom lip of the motor casing. A few dry twigs is all it takes to get it going.Rising hot air, and the absence of oxygen created by the combustion process, pulls air through the bottom vent holes in the double-walled cylinder. This air fuels the fire at its base and gives a boost of preheated air through the vent holes at the top of the burn chamber.

The thrust curve of a motor is important to look at for seeing when the motor hits max thrust and how long it will provide different levels of thrust The Solo gasifying stoves aren’t just lovely looking objects, they’re some of the most efficient stoves for cooking with wood. Insert the sheet metal tube into the can, making sure it fits snugly. The tube should extend about 1 inch above the top of the can. The combustion chamber will be located inside the sheet metal tube. Step 6: Add the grate Lay down a tray, tarp, or garbage bag as your launch pad, and put the cup/jar in the middle of the launch pad. This will help you catch some of the exhaust and keep the environment clean (especially if you are using baking soda and vinegar) when we finish up! More recently, HD Hyundai participated in the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, to demo its NeuBoat level 2 autonomous navigation system for recreational boats. The name mashes together the words "neuron" and "boat" and is quite fitting since the Avikus' A.I. navigation tech is a core component of the solution, it will handle self-recognition, real-time decisions, and controls when on the water. Of course, there are a lot of things happening behind the scenes with HD Hyundai's autonomous navigation solution, which we'll dive into below -- HD Hyundai will also be introducing more about the tech at CES 2023.

Design - Build - Fly

Cut a hole in the side of the big tin about 3cm up from the bottom. The hole should be the same diameter as the small tins. Also, it is much easier to transport than a regular oven, making it perfect for camping or hiking trips. Place a layer of insulation material at the bottom of the can. Perlite, vermiculite, or ceramic fiber can be used for insulation. The insulation should be about 1 inch deep, and should cover the bottom of the can. This insulation layer will help to retain heat and improve the stove's efficiency. Step 5: Install the sheet metal tube There are plenty of accessories available, including cooking potsand an alcohol burner attachmentto use instead of wood. You need four tins in all. One large catering-size tin and three smaller ones. The large can and one of the small ones should be open at one end only. The other two small tins should be open at both ends.

Autonomous vehicle navigation technology is certainly nothing new and has been in the works for the better part of a decade at this point. But one of the most common forms we see and hear about is the type used to control steering in road-based vehicles. That's not the only place where technology can make a huge difference. Autonomous driving systems can offer incredible benefits to boats and marine vehicles, too, which is precisely why HD Hyundai has unveiled its Avikus AI technology -- for marine and watercraft vehicles. For the motors, Cesaroni reloadable kits are perfect for starting out with. You can get motor cases in a variety of sizes, and for flights, you just buy propellant refills and reload the motor case each time. Make sure, though, that you match the motor diameter with the diameter of the motor mount with your kit! The winner agrees to the use of his/her name and image in any publicity material, as well as their entry. Any personal data relating to the winner, or any other entrants will be used solely in accordance with current [UK] data protection legislation and will not be disclosed to a third party without the entrant’s prior consent.Do the same to the other semicircle. Instead of forming it to the body tube, you can form it to the first cone by forcefully pushing the second cone into the first (the first cone should be properly glued and dried). Now that the inner cone is formed, you can pull it out, add a little glue inside the first cone, and then reinsert the piece, again pushing forcefully. After letting the finished two-layer piece dry, I used the X-acto knife to trim off excess material and clean it up. Wrap and tape a tube of paper around the film canister. Hint: Tape the canister to the end of the paper before you start wrapping. The combustion chamber is where the fuel is burned, and it is designed to create a high-temperature, high-pressure flame that is directed towards the heat-exchange chamber.
