By the far-off year of 2006, the Cybertronians will have perfected the art of converting living metal to cardboard. Released as part of Walmart's Autobots Unite subline, The Last Knight Legion Class Hot Rod transforms from a robot into a fictionalized Lamborghini Centenario with an added spoiler. The panning shot he appears in during "Decepticon Air" actually contains two of him, but as there are also multiple Ironhides, Brawns, and Beachcombers in that scene, it can be fairly assumed that at least one of them is "real". A lot of early secondary material uses Hot Rod and Rodimus in ways that don't fit the main movie-established dynamic. As with stories from the same era that portrayed Megatron and Galvatron as separate beings, this was likely to avoid spoiling the movie's ending.Additionally, Rodimus is the only character in Animated to share a voice actor with his G1 counterpart in both the English and Japanese dubs. Someone in the studios must love him! The Decepticons having stolen the Matrix of Creation, Hot Rod was called up by Ultra Magnus to help retrieve it. The Autobots used an army of decoys to distract the Decepticons, while Hot Rod, Blurr, Kup and Ultra Magnus infiltrated their base. Hot Rod told Blurr of all people to hurry up and blast the Matrix out of same sort of crystal structure. The Autobots then made their getaway with the Matrix in hand. Hot Rod’s blast his Soundwave’s shoulder, causing him to fling the Brain Drain device up in the air. Laserbeak then managed to snatch the device in mid-air, and flew off to rendezvous with Galvatron. Unable to follow, the Autobots realized that the concert-goers were doomed to all become incredibly stupid very soon. If Jazz attempted to stop him however, he was successful in doing so and the Autobots successfully destroyed the Brain Drain device. Dubbed "Hot Rod Blue Clear Version", this redeco of the oft-used Classics Rodimus mold is cast in transparent blue plastics, emulating the scene in The Transformers: The Movie where Hot Rod catches the Matrix of Leadership to keep it from hitting the floor after a dying Optimus Prime dropped it. Of interest is the fact that all the plastic parts are translucent, even the usually "softer"/unpaintable/never-clear nylon parts—a trend not seen on any other "clear" toys produced before. Accessories: trailer/evolution armor, evolution armor arms, rifle (formed by two blasters), Matrix of Leadership frame, Matrix of Leadership core Titanium Cybertron Heroes Rodimus Prime is a mostly die-cast metal transforming toy based loosely upon the original Generation 1 Rodimus Prime toy. He features much greater articulation and bulkier body proportions. Unfortunately, his transformation results in an incredibly awkward posture, forcing his upper body far ahead of his lower half. His die-cast construction also results in a great deal of paint-chipping, even when delicately handled.
Rodimus comes with a PVC figurine of the Rodimus's "Kiss Player" partner Shaoshao Li and a bamboo dumpling steamer; Shaoshao can just barely fit into his car interior, though she's clearly not "driving".
