About this deal

If you’re familiar with and/or a fan of the Adrenaline 21 you don’t need to read the rest of this review; it’s the same excellent shoe it’s always been. If you’re new to the model it’s a wonderfully cushioned, almost old-school running shoe that has a high heel to toe drop (12mm), weighs a little on the heavy side and is generally the perfect long-run shoe for those who simply want the most reliability and the least fuss for their long runs. Lofty ambition

This is the shoe I was buying a third time after going through all the narrow/Over Pronation/Motion Control study over a week (I could open a running shoe shop after that)….. The fit on the bridge of my foot felt a little too snug at first, but once I started moving, I was pleasantly surprised at how the gusseted tongue and laces flexed as my foot did, allowing for a nice smooth transition by preventing any restriction, rubbing or tightness. The Brooks Adrenaline GTS 21 is a moderate feature, maximum support shoe designed for daily training and high mileage. The Adrenaline sits in the middle of Brooks stability offerings, between the Ravenna and the Transcend. With its moderate stability it isn’t as speedy as the Ravenna, nor as bold as the Transcend. When these arrived I was excited to review them because I have never run in a pair of Adrenalines before. When I opened them up I was immediately impressed.Want to see even more running shoes? We have plenty for you to browse, including men’s and women’s running trainers. Running shoes are specifically created to be breathable and flexible while providing support and bounce to optimise your run, so we recommend taking your time and finding the right pair for you. The upper of the Adrenaline aided in providing stability. The heel counter is a strength of the upper. It was cushioned and held my feet in place. Guide Rails support shifts the focus from the feet to the knees. The holistic support system reduces excess movement so your knees and hips can move more naturally to keep you running comfortably and to keep injury at bay. Upon slipping them on for the first time I noticed how wide they felt. There was no tightness experienced. They had a firmness to them I wasn’t used to. As mentioned, this is a daily trainer slightly on the heavier side, which isn’t built to encourage you to move at a high pace. So if you’re looking for shoes best for speed runs, this probably isn’t the one for you.

I knew from experience Brooks trainers take a little longer to break-in. The drop was also evident, it is a 12mm drop in both the mens and womens. This break-in is actually part of Brooks’ smart design. Over time, the midsole is designed to soften in the places of greater repeated impact – i.e. the places where you need it most. Believing that the ‘correct’ way to run is simply your natural way, Brooks developed their Guiderail technology to support those with a tendency to overpronation and heel strikers, hoping to keep them safe from injury whilst allowing them to keep running in their own way.To explain further, the extra support won’t inhibit you if you don’t need it. At the same time, if your feet start to roll in further, the support guides your ankles and knees through a better path. In fact, Brooks’ research showed them that this style of support is the best way to reduce knee problems during running. As the support helps you when required, it works well for runners whose left and right legs move in distinct ways from one another. For example, you may only get one sore knee during a run. From time to time carriers may deliver earlier or later, or on non working days however this is cannot be guaranteed nor should it be expected. They made small changes to last year’s model along with this year’s model. Let’s start from the ground up. Secondly, the upper has been re-engineered to bring about two things: 1) to be more breathable, and 2) to give a bit more solidity and structure to the midfoot to hold the foot in place better. We loved this. It stretched just enough to allow for freedom of movement but retained enough shape that any unwanted lateral movement sense of bagginess was never an issue. It’s a change that is welcome because, while the Adrenaline has always been a very comfortable shoe, the upper was an area that needed a little tweaking to make it contribute a bit more rather than just sitting on top of the midsole. Mild stability In their quest to create the best running shoe, Brooks has developed this mesh upper running shoe designed for intense training. Buying a Brooks Adrenaline GTS 21 means you have a shoe that is suitable for running on asphalt. The price is the usual for a good running shoe, around one hundred euros. As is normal at this price point there is guaranteed excellent quality and cushioning. The next model, the Adrenaline GTS 22, is also interesting. Medium Weight Running Shoe

Fresh new colorways and cutting edge tech come together in the Adrenaline GTS 21 delivering the adaptive support and ideal softness you know and love.

Brooks Adrenaline GTS 21 First Impressions

One aspect of the shoe I liked was the width. It isn’t a tailored fit but it gives your feet room to feel and splay out naturally. This natural feeling is extended to the engineered mesh because of its flexibility. Overall, the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 21 is perfect for those looking for a versatile daily running shoe. Flexible, snug, stable, and durable, it performs superbly for your easy miles, long distances, and fares well on various terrains. In this range, you’ll find Brooks Adrenaline GTS 20 and 19 models, plus we can show you the latest ranges of Brooks GTS 21, Brooks GTS 22, and many more besides. We also have Brooks Adrenaline GTS women’s and men’s varieties, so no matter who you’re shopping for, you’ll find something for them here.
