About this deal

As fine as the Muvo 2 looks, Creative speakers suit those who care more about a speaker’s insides than its outsides. The Creative MUVO Play is a speaker that offers a high-quality audio experience. It is designed for use in the en_US market. With its sleek and compact design, this speaker provides portability and convenience. Also, let’s not forget the Muvo 2 is slimmer than the majority of “bar” shape speakers. This alone might explain why the bass is neutral-sounding rather than the big bouncy stuff you get with some Bluetooth speakers. Verdict Even at maximum volume the Muvo 2 sounds composed, not at all “shouty” or harsh, and the bass radiator does not distort. This can sometimes happen when the driver hasn’t been designed properly and the diaphragm ends up moving too far. The MUVO Mini is very much Creative’s outdoor speaker, because it iscertified to be weatherproof to the IP66 standard,no less. In practice, this means that – provided you don’t submerge the unit in a bowl of water – it will stand up to the wetstuff perfectly. This is very handy for impromptu barbecues, motorhome rallies and festival fun when you’re at the mercy of the unpredictable British weather.

And since it is affordable, you can also get a second Creative Muvo Go speaker to pair up with the first one to have a true stereo sound. Take note that the Creative Muvo Go is a directional speaker. Meaning wherever the main front speaker is pointing, that’s where the sound is going. So pairing up another Creative Muvo Go with each other will create better surround sound for your listening pleasure. Unfortunately I don’t have a second Creative Muvo Go speaker to test this one out. But I am told it sounds way better. Conclusion No doubt that there are other good Bluetooth speakers out there from within this class. But in terms of affordability and durability, the Creative Muvo Go would be a better choice for me. I can say that I worry less with this one. I am not afraid to place it near a body of water or hang it on a tree. This is one sturdy speaker if you ask me. Since the bass is rather strong, when I place the Creative Muvo Go on my table and blast at full volume, the vibrations caused by the speaker are close to none. Logically, I would anticipate some vibrations caused by high volume and punchy bass but I guess due to the weight and solid build, it does not vibrate at all. Just fyi, I prefer to place the Creative Muvo Go speaker horizontally on my table instead of vertically. The sound quality is a satisfaction for me for a speaker in this class. It is small therefore it is portable. I can place it in my sling bag without it taking up much space. But it is big enough that you can take it out with you on a picnic outdoors. Other than that, you can pair it up with a tablet and use it to watch movies. Better yet, pair it up with another Creative Muvo Go for an immersive surround sound.

You can treat the Muvo 2 as a simple Bluetooth unit, but it can also act as a USB soundcard/laptop speaker and an MP3 player. There are six rubber control buttons on the top, and the “M” switches between modes, including these extras. Like some of the other pretty decent portable Bluetooth speakers we tested, this unit sounds really great until you put it next to one of the top-end modelsfrom Pure, Denon, Speedlink or Edifier. In reality, it’s going to be fine for most of us,most of the time.

The Creative Muvo 2c uses the classic driver array for a small Bluetooth speaker. There are two little active drivers across its front, and a passive radiator in-between powered by the output of those drivers. As such it’s closer to a baby alternative to something like the Bose SoundLink Mini II or UE Wonderboom rather than just an upscaled laptop/tablet speaker. We’re also fairly impressed by how little the Creative Muvo 2C distorts at maximum volume. Some other songs that I usually play are those by Alan Walker or any EDM type of songs. Sometimes you can also find some bass boosted songs on YouTube which I did try on this Creative Muvo Go speaker. It held up quite well. It is a good outdoor Bluetooth speaker that you can get at an affordable price. This setup works a treat in all the best small bar-shape speakers, and does so again here. The Muvo 2 is alarmingly powerful and loud for its size, and at higher volumes the sound has much less a hard edge, and much more confidence, than the Muvo 2C. We’ve listened to it all day long near max volume, happily.
