About this deal

Now Analogue Productions, together with Quality Record Pressings, is putting Kind of Blue where it belongs: the Ultra High Quality Record (UHQR) pressed on Clarity Vinyl on a manual Finebilt press with attention paid to every single detail of every single record. The final straw that banned me permanently was when I posted 2 threads: one in which I stated my unequivocal antipathy toward the use of illicit drugs, and then an friendly question inquiring about how many of the guys were married, and if married, then married to biological female wives. Is it possible to now write anything that hasn’t already been written or said about this record? I haven’t any fresh insights to offer that might advance what you probably already know. A good Kind of Blue pressing puts you in the 30th Street studio to hear the performance. Ashley Kahn’s “Kind of Blue” book sets the pre-recording stage, offering both musical and technical details and puts you as much in the control room as in front of the band.

Audiophile Accessories Digital Supplies Dustcovers Isolation Devices Record Mats and Clamps Record Supplies Recording Media Blank Cassettes Room Treatments System Enhancements System Set Up Tools• Amplifiers Nice, but no cigar. Price tags almost always have an effect of transfer function of an audio signal. ANY audiophile that has been doing this for 40 years would immediately say YES! It does have a huge difference., and thats why they spend more.Well, I think that everything has already been said and talked about the audio quality, however, I want to commend QUALITY's initiative, for leaving the record on the outside of the beautiful cover, thus maintaining the integrity of the cover during long periods of travel, congratulations to the thinkers !!! The music is dynamic and the vinyl is cut loudly. Each instrument was easily identifiable, as were their exact locations. this one is speed-corrected, so you can think of it as the one to own. ... the booklet that accompanies this edition is so comprehensive that, should you have the patience, you might want to read it from cover to cover before letting your stylus settle into the groove. It just might prepare you for what you are about to hear, which is — to my ears — so far above reproach that it has joined a minuscule list of albums I would have to classify as 'perfect.'" — Ken Kessler, The Vinyl Adventure. Read Kessler's entire review here. I have multiple versions of this album - all stereo. This is now the 2nd best version I have. The best version is still the 2007 SACD. My only complaint is the big ol' box is kinda annoying. I just put the LP on my shelf in a sleeve without it.

Really happy with this UHQR (number 7700) and surprised it is clearly better than both my Classic 33 and 45! Just sounds beautiful and alive! Well done Chad and Co.! Everything needed to be said in a short review has been said already; see Fred Kaplan’s comment above. Personally I never heard this record sound so good, it is testament to Bernie Grundman. The combination of Clarity vinyl and the flat profile brings this recording closer to the listener. There is little if any need to for an A/B comparison as it is that good it easily manages to stand up all by itself. If there are any issues, they sit with the physical pressing as mine has some none fill. Still this attains five stars though six would be more accurate but then we would be getting into hyperbole territory. The presence of this record engages the listener from the first to last note. It continues to be one of the most listened-to and studied recordings of all time, a required primer for many young musicians, and one of the most transcendent pieces of music ever recorded. Davis played trumpet sublime with his ensemble sextet featuring pianist Bill Evans, drummer Jimmy Cobb, bassist Paul Chambers, and saxophonists John Coltrane and Julian "Cannonball" Adderley with Wynton Kelly playing piano on "Freddy the Freeloader."Bullshit. I have been an audiophile for 38 years and I know for a fact that a price tag in and of itself has no effect on the transfer function of an audio signal. It's ridiculous to think otherwise. despite my mere 38 years in the hobby I am confident that 2 years from now I will still know that price tags do not affect transfer functions of audio signals. CD Player D/A Converter or Processor Disc Player / DSD-capable USB DAC Hi Res Audio Player iPod Audio Portable DAP (Digital Audio Player) Software• Furniture I own many versions of this album. Simply breathtaking from the beginning to the end. The biggest “wow” factor is the dead silent noise floor of the vinyl. You will never see a better sounding version of KOB out there….not even close to this one. Can’t wait for Chad and the folks at AP to put out the 45rpm version of this album in the future. This 33rpm version is already a top 5 in my collection! Well done AP! Keep the UHQR releases coming! No, this simply tells me once again you have been drinking the koolaid, that you have no idea how actual listening skills are developed. It also speaks of the toxic audiophile fandom that permeates the hobby. Davis played trumpet sublime with his ensemble sextet featuring pianist Bill Evans, drummer Jimmy Cobb, bassist Paul Chambers, and saxophonists John Coltrane and Julian “Cannonball” Adderley with Wyton Kelly playing piano on “Freddy the Freeloader.”
