About this deal

It’s obvious here that EPOS has aimed for a premium-looking box, the marketing material overall is clear and concise. Inside the headset sat in a foam insert which ensures it arrives in perfect condition after delivery. The accessory box is a good quality card and the silver word print looks excellent. In addition to a lighter, more comfortable feel than its predecessors, the H6PRO has no batteries, no latency, perfect balance, and improved durability. All of this combined means more focus on the game and less fatigue and unnecessary distraction.

The right earcup houses a volume adjustment wheel in the middle with a fairly large surface area. It turns the volume from 100% to (around) 5%, EPOS say this is deliberately done to stop users from muting the headset. You need to mute it using other controls. We agree with this decision. The EPOS H6PRO gaming headset is certainly on the premium side. The comfort and audio quality on offer make it well worth the price, especially given its wired-only nature. The Sennheiser heritage is evident, in all the right places.

Premium simplicity, but a little quiet

The EPOS H6PRO is a serious over-ear gaming headset for the serious gamer. But we've all heard that before, right? Well, EPOS Audio is actually the official audio partner of Cloud9, only one of the best professional Esports gaming teams in the world. So, what makes EPOS and the H6PRO different from all the other "audiophile-grade" gaming headsets out there? We're breaking it down, getting the inside scoop directly from EPOS, and testing it out ourselves to find out. Read on and if we don't answer all of your questions here, leave a comment for us down below or give us a call , we'd love to hear from you! And in an interesting twist, if you don't want to use the mic for an extended period, just pull the mic outward as you lift it up and it comes right off;it's held in by magnets and connects via a couple pins. You can cover the hole where the mic normally lives with a plastic cap. I'd probably lose the cap in a matter of weeks, but at least Epos includes two in the box.

While I have heard more defined audio with the likes of the HyperX Cloud, this headset maintained a similar level of audio quality over multiple devices. If you flip between consoles and PC often, this will provide almost the same experience on each one. Convenient and intuitive volume control via a large "finger-friendly" volume wheel on the right ear cup

Top 18 Product Ratings

The padded headband has a very soft faux leather feel which is very comfortable in the hand and, more importantly, on the head. That said, there are a couple things to consider about the H6Pro's sound. The bass here is heavy. The low-end isn't extremely overpowering, but it's more than I'm accustomed to with my headset daily drivers (currently alternating between Sennheisser's Momentum 3 and Anker's excellent Soundcore Liberty 3 Pro earbuds). To be fair, this isn’t a huge problem as most wired mics don’t have these chat mixer features. And considering that most people tend to hang out in party chat, regardless of their preferred console, I doubt anyone will really notice. That said, Microsoft gets the edge when it comes to fine tuning chat when playing with random gamers online.

Our in-house gamers put the H6PRO to the test and came out with a few helpful notes and tips that will ensure your set up is a breeze and you're getting the best experience possible out of your new H6PRO. For testing purposes, we used a PC. Setup: The microphone is easy to remove and additional covers are included so you can pop a plate on and just use the headset as headphones if you’d like. If you own a pair of wireless headphones, you probably won't have much use for this feature, but it’s great for people that don’t have a secondary pair of headphones to listen to music on the go. Comfort The entire H6PRO is very neat and tidy, in fact. It feels extremely well-made in hand, and while primarily plastic, there's a metal headband running through the top of the leatherette-clad band that offers plenty of flex should you be a bit rough with it. Having an audio profile of such clarity means the H6Pro is a fantastic headset for gaming, too. Wearing a top-notch headset is a great way to improve your online multiplayer experience, as they can help you become more aware of your surroundings by highlighting distant footsteps, vehicles and gunshots. I found this to be the case in PUBG: Battlegrounds. Over in Gran Turismo 7 , the H6Pro helped me listen out for rival motorists trying to cut me off at the apex, and I was able to defend my position much more effectively as a result. The demand for better images, better sound, and better connectivity has led to some magnificent gaming visuals, musical scores, and interactive technology. (Side note: we have clients that have gaming scores on their high-res playlists and even on vinyl... and they sound amazing on their home systems). With the precision detail that goes into the design of the game, the epic storytelling itself, and the consoles and customized PCs acting as the vessels, that same level of attention has been met by brands like EPOS to deliver that experience in a way that blurs the lines between game and reality so that every detail of the game can be experienced and enjoyed without compromise. Who is EPOS?

Under the hood, EPOS has implemented 42mm drivers, which is a typical size along with 50mm. That being said, we fully expected the smaller drivers to be a weakness. We were pleasantly surprised to be greeted with rich, clear, concise sound across the board and having Sennheiser DNA in its pedigree is certainly paying off. Let's get on to the all-important audio factor then, and both models of the H6PRO come with brand new 42mm drivers. You’d be forgiven for not knowing EPOS as well as other mainstream gaming headset manufacturers. That being said, you’ve probably heard of Sennheiser? We thought so. Sennheiser had an offshoot called Sennheiser Communications, and in 2020 this was renamed EPOS. So, EPOS produce “high-end” enterprise and gaming headsets and we’ve been sent the H6PRO closed gaming headset. It’s awesome, but carry on reading to find out why… EPOS H6PRO: Specifications Unique to this build is the open acoustic design. Each earcup has a breathable top half that mitigates some of the heat that builds up during play. They also allow the transfer of exterior sound, making it easier to hear whatever’s going on in a player’s immediate surroundings. Speaking of sound, the H6Pro has strong inner components. While I can’t speak on Epos’ claim of having the best transducers on the market, I can say that this headset produces high quality audio. The biggest explosions, the faintest footsteps, team chatter – it was possible to hear it all with minimal effort in most cases. Just plug in the H6Pro and go. Epos H6Pro – Performance The Closed headset faired better here, and I preferred it mostly because I didn’t need to have it on full volume to catch everything.
