Wiseman, R., Greening, E., Smith, M. "Belief in the paranormal and suggestion in the seance room." British Journal of Psychology. 1 Aug. 2003, Volume 94, Issue 3: 285–297. In 2006, Diana and Alan Bennett began work on The Norfolk Experiment, at the time, they said: 'We owed so much to those in the higher realms that we knew in our hearts we would continue to experiment in one way or another. I have always seen, in my mind's eye, a phoenix rising from the ashes with renewed vigour to live through another cycle.' The truth, as they say, is out there. Having created what they called an 'inter-dimensional doorway' the group was dismayed when 'a group of experimenters from the future whose motives were not entirely benevolent' caused 'an interference contrary to the strict laws of time and space'. The group disbanded. The couple shared the same aims of proving that that humans survive the death event and go on to an Afterlife.

At the time of the Scole sessions, Robin and Sandra, the hosts of the Scole experiments, were married with four grown-up children. Although Alan and Diana were ostensibly 'unconscious' or in 'trance' during many of the experimental sessions, they, along with the Foys, undertook any necessary preparation for the experimental sessions, e.g. acquiring materials requested by the Spirit Team. Robin Foy and Sandra Foy had spent many years witnessing physical paranormal phenomena and recording their experiences in books and elsewhere. We readily agreed and it was decided that the Norfolk Experimental Group, (Diana Bennett, Alan Bennett, Jane Solomon, Grant Solomon), would be formed and the new work would be known as THE NORFOLK EXPERIMENT .The current description is supernatural mystery thriller however we're well aware that once various producers, directors, other screenwriters, and actors get to look at and have input into a script the whole thing can change enormously. But we think almost everything about the Scole story would make a great film.' All the original material produced and collected during The Scole Experiment - including photographs, objects, audio/video recordings, as well as the records and diaries kept of the events - is owned by the Scole Experimental Group. In 1998, the Scole Experimental Group granted Grant Solomon and Jane Solomon - in their capacities as authors of The Scole Experiment, appointed collators and curators of all The Scole Experiment material, and administratorsof SEARA- all rights to use all The Scole Experiment material for their books, articles, films, and other projects. Separately, The Scole Experiment book and other original books, articles, and documents created by Grant Solomon and Jane Solomon, including material provided for the development of The Scole Experiment movie, is owned by Grant Solomon and Jane as the originators and creators of those works. In 1993, the Scole Experimental Group (Scole Group) embarked on a five-year experiment using a revolutionary kind of ‘energy' to produce tangible objects from the spirit world. The term ‘tangible objects’ means things recognisable to our senses or our instruments – visible manifestations, lights, sounds, touches, tastes and smells.

In 2022, in preparation for the 30th Anniversary of the first significant Scole phenomenon (1993) in 2023, Scole Group members - Robin Foy, Alan Bennett, and Diana Bennett - asked Grant Solomon and Jane Solomon (officially appointed collators and curators of The Scole Experiment material since 1998) to digitally publish - with universal free access for study and discussion ('educational purposes only') - all The Scole Files, including Notes and Transcripts regarding the audio recordings of the 'Communication' during the 500 x 2-hour sessions of The Scole Experiment. Previously, in the book, the report, the diary, the documentary, the commentary, and elsewhere, only approximately 10% of the files had been published. The remaining 90% of the data and evidence will begin to be made universally and freely available 'for educational purposes only' at the start of 2023. Keen, M., Ellison, A., Fontana, D. "The Scole Report." Proceedings of the Society for Psychical Research. 1 Nov. 1999, Volume 58, Part 220. The phenomena reported attracted criticism from those who suggested that the group's insistence on complete darkness invited suspicion, but those that knew the group insisted on their honesty. The next biggest red flag was the mediums' insistence that the seances be held in complete darkness and their refusal to allow any night-mode video cameras or light enhancement equipment. The mediums' explanation was that they felt such equipment would distract the investigators! That's like telling a pilot that having instruments might distract him from flying. Astoundingly the investigators agreed to this, though they did express dismay, as if their desire and good intentions alone validate their conclusions. Audio recordings only were permitted, but since the claimed phenomena were primarily visual, the audio tapes are of essentially no value. Robin also compiled a comprehensive diary record of every session of The Scole Experiment, which included the contemporary notes written by all the members of the Scole Group while the experiments were being undertaken. The Scole Association is a voluntary organisation, administered by the curators of The Scole Files, whose volunteer members are helping to spread information about The Scole Experiment worldwide, including that contained in The Scole Files. will be the 30th Anniversary of the first significant phenomenon witnessed during The Scole Experiment (1993-1998).
