I would recommend spending the money on some lessons, when I finally broke down and started taking lessons, I learned more in a week then I did from reading the whole book. This combo is turning out to be really effective for me, I haven’t been playing long but I can feel the progress with each passing day. The book discusses both tabs and notation which makes it easier to transition if you’ve been using the former. He teaches guitar, songwriting, bass, and music theory, and his book reflects the depth of experience he has with people who are just starting to learn the guitar. Alright, it’s time we dive in to see what to look for in a guitar book as a beginner and the type of books you should get.
