It is all well enough written if you don't mind all the digressions, and Kate Atkinson keeps lots of balls in the air at the same time, which does require some skill, and yes, I did read on to see how it all ended. Jackson has an extraordinarly happy ending (like Del Boy becoming a millionaire) - I wonder if the book was originally as a one off, and this was Jackson riding off into the distance.

Case Histories is a British crime drama television series based on the Jackson Brodie novel series by Kate Atkinson. Meanwhile Jackson goes sight seeing to Cramond Island where he tries to pull a floating body out of the sea, but fails. And by lucky chance, the book that Liz had given me was "Case Histories" - the first Jackson Brodie book - so I decided to give that series a go.
