Description

Thermal Grizzly is introducing a new product called KryoSheet , which is one of the company's advertised "High Performance Cooling Solutions". The graphene thermal pads of the Thermal Grizzly KryoSheet series can be used excellently as an alternative to thermal pastes from the higher performance segment. Similar to the Carbonaut pads, they have an adaptable surface with very high thermal conductivity. For those who don't know, these are new sheets made with Graphene that Thermal Grizzly claims will compete with "high-performance" thermal pastes, but have the added benefit that you never need to replace/refresh the sheet like you have to do with pastes, and their performance will remain steady/unchanging as time passes. The paste I'm comparing it to is Corsair XTM50. It was applied less than a month ago, and I used the paste spreader to apply the paste (done this spread process a bunch of times in the past, and I've gotten decent at getting it spread on there "just right"). The graphene thermal pads of the Thermal Grizzly KryoSheet series can be used as an excellent alternative for thermal compounds from the higher performance segment. Similar to Carbonaut pads, they have a conformable surface with very high thermal conductivity. Compared to Carbonaut pads, KryoSheet as a high-end product offers significantly higher thermal conductivity. For memory and other similar chips like VRMs, you really should be using a soft thermal pad in most situations. Most coolers for memory expect you to use a pad and intentionally have space between the chip and the cooler, and these components are low heat anyways. For CPUs and GPUs, even graphite thermal pads usually aren't as good as thermal paste, but they're good enough for pretty much everything except top-end components, and are often reusable, don't require cleanup, and are generally cheaper. Even on the best CPUs and best GPUs, you're not leaving much if any performance on the table by using a thermal pad.

In hindsight, I should have taken screenshots of the idle temps, but...whatever. Not trying to be ultra scientific here. Compared to Carbonaut pads, KryoSheet, as a high-end product, offers significantly higher thermal conductivity. This increased thermal conductivity is not only due to the choice of materials, but also to the innovative manufacturing process. KryoSheet contains no liquid components and is therefore not subject to normal aging, as is the case with traditional thermal paste. Drying out is not possible. It may be nothing worth noting, but the graph when using the sheet appeared more "stable" with a fewer spikes or variances in temperature overall. Unfortunately, the graph's temperature label is covering most of that. Not sure it's important anyway. The easy application and longevity of the KryoSheet pads are plus points here. The long durability of the pads means that they are maintenance-free. In addition to applications in industry, for example in the construction of servers, this is also an advantage in domestic PC construction or in the OEM sector. Because the pads do not have to be replaced at regular intervals like thermal paste, there is no need for extensive maintenance. I have not run any prime95 long-term tests to compare thermals, and I don't really plan to. 3dMark's CPU test is good enough for a rough comparison.

Nothing changed about the machine's configuration between the "before" and "after" tests, and they were completed one day apart.

Due to the optimized thermal conductivity of KryoSheet compared to Carbonaut, the focus of the graphene pads is on enthusiast products in the end customer segment as well as on industrial applications. Examples of the use of KryoSheet include refurbishing used graphics cards and notebooks/laptops. This increased thermal conductivity is not only due to the choice of material, but also to the innovative manufacturing process. KryoSheet does not contain any liquid components and is therefore not subject to normal ageing as is the case with traditional thermal paste. Drying out is not possible.

Throw Your Computer In The Ocean.

I was unable to find any actual results of people testing the new Thermal Grizzly Kryosheets since they're so new. I gambled and bought one, and I figure people might be interested in my initial, unscientific results.
