About this deal

If it was not for these links, there would be no way to fund this site (and the cost these days to keep it going is pretty damn high), so I thank you in advance if you visit these links. Olympus’ Pro lenses have a mechanism on the front of their lens caps which aids in quickly removing the lens cap with the lens hood mounted. I used to shoot pics for cinema posters (to be seen from about 10 feet away) and an original Sony Mavica MVC-FD7 640×480 pixels floppy-disc camera was good enough for that!

With the weather cooling down in Phoenix I decided to take a couple of trips to the zoo and see if I could use this lens for getting any kind of creative shots of the animals. Visitors keep coming from Germany, if this goes on I can compile a blog entry just featuring ALL my German visitors whom I have met in KL. I expected the 40mm full-frame equivalent lens to be my go-to choice for the more artistic kind of photos my sister was looking for. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had someone look at my images on the web, printed, in a class and they ask me about my camera.I had a play with a friends kit,he has the 12,45 and the 75 and I must say its a nice combination, good image quality, good auto focus and as a walk around fun kit I am definately considering it. One other thing you can do that could give you the best of both worlds is to get the Olympus 75mm and pair that with the absolutely tiny Panasonic 35-100mm f/4-f/5. means that it doesn’t isolate things from their backgrounds as clearly as the wider aperture 20mm, 45mm and 75mm do. This shows that the designers of this lens did not just focus on bokeh quantity, but on bokeh quality. Bokeh that looks pleasing and a character that stands toe to toe with legends such as the Nikon 85 1.

The only ones talking smack about the OM-D these days are those who just hate it for its sensor size. Even the 4 year old Nikon D700 destroys it easily in that regard and the quite new APS-C Nikon D3200 has good deal better high ISO performance too. I prefer, though, the versatility of the Oly 14-150mm zoom, because with just two lenses (Panny 7-14mm, Oly 14-150mm), everything’s covered from the equivalent – in 35mm full-frame terms – of ultra-wide 14mm to ultra-long 300mm . I find this 150mm focal length to be absolutely ideal for shooting photographs of my young nieces and nephews while they play in the living room.I would not recommend this lens for street photography though, but if you do need to shoot something from a distance, and trying to be as stealthy as possible, this is not a bad choice. Count me in Olympus’ camp — I couldn’t be happier with Olympus’ colour results right across the board. I have owned and tried many cameras but only a DSLR like the Canon 5DIII will get razor sharp shots with a 200mm or 300mm telephoto of kids playing soccer. I’ve opted to create an entire subsection regarding the manual focus ring because it is the single biggest shortcoming of an otherwise outstanding lens. I have been with Olympus since the OM-1, through 2-10 and 4, then e-1 and E620 …now with the E-M5…what I can say is I have never had a bad experience with any Olympus lens… and the 60mm Macro has been the lens of choice for me…but now I am hunting for one of these babys!

I always found it a bit long for me so it rarely came out except for the rare headshot here and there. With a 112mm equivalent focal length on m43, this is the closest competitor to the Olympus 75mm f/1. The 75mm by all accounts is an exceptional lens, and would have a bit more reach, but I’m really in the market for a telephoto zoom lens for the OMD5. Again, you pay nothing extra by using my links, it is just a way to help support this site, so again, I thank you in advance More info is here on how you can help! lens, which many reviewers have praised and noted to have comparable sharpness to this Olympus 75mm F1.
