About this deal

I don’t have any of that stuff anywhere because I like it to be as blank a canvas as it was the very first time I made a record. Only by the grace of Walker Hayes and the scourge of his music still infecting the populous like a puss-inducing venereal outbreak can we stop short of declaring Graffiti U the worst “country” music album ever unleashed for human consumption since historical stats of such kind were first ascribed. It is sad that some “country music fans” have gotten used to bad music so much that they can’t tell when the music is very sub-par.

Virtually from the time Keith Urban became a superstar in the USA, he has been almost impossible to ignore here in Australia. It offers insights, not ad hominem attacks that do little but establish that the author is a member of an in-group. Trigger, your review simply affirmed what I already suspected from the radio singles I have heard off this album – I’m better off putting the money I might have wasted on this towards Ashley Monroe’s newest.

I’ll tell you what would be refreshing: Keith apologizing for this record and recording some kind of “country roots” LP. Elsewhere, the buoyant ‘My Wave’ sees Urban delivering the kind of sunny, reggae-infused pop of which the Zac Brown Band so often specialise.

Nonetheless, Graffiti U sounds like an album made by an energised, invigorated artist, and – although not every song is a complete success – the album’s several highlights find Urban to be firing on all cylinders. And apparently the positive energy he gives in his performances is appreciated by a wide age range of people. We are only hoping that clear, open-minded folks understand our concerns about protecting the possible demise of a genre of music we and much of the world absolutely love .

And that’s all the worse when you compare this to the music that Jason Boland made after he stopped drinking. He’s affable, funny, and more than willing to put unknown people in the spotlight (he had some sisters who came out for a couple of tunes. Graffiti U is the tenth studio album by New Zealand-born Australian country music singer Keith Urban.

Not only do I find nothing remotely country, or even rootsy, about his music; the same empty lyrical themes and tropes continue ad-infinitum. And all the blindly loyal fans makes me pause before I admit I listen to country music to people who think its lame. On 23 April, he performed the song at a Spotify "Fans First" event in Nashville, Tennessee along with " Parallel Line" and " Wasted Time", from his previous album Ripcord. VG/EX means that the item's sleeve is in Very Good condition and the disc is in Excellent condition.
