About this deal

It’s the bundle of self-worth tangled in the sheets on Wyatt’s bed, in the paychecks that don’t always arrive on time, in the lovely bedroom in my cousin’s lovely house that I’d never be able to afford on my own. Her struggles with pulling herself back and her fear of failure and giving her dreams a chance hit close to home so it was particularly heartwarming to see her decide to be happy and follow her dreams knowing that even if they didn’t lead to success (neither immediately nor in the long term), it was something she had to do for herself. All in all, Business or Pleasure is a refreshing and new rom-com that I’m hoping will win the hearts of many people.

We learn how OCD is something Finn not only had to hide during his career, but also endure bad remarks and taunts from the people around him. I love an alpha hero as much as the next girl, but there’s something so compelling about a cinnamon roll hero who acknowledges when there’s room for improvement – and takes the opportunity to learn how to please his girl.To put it in simpler terms, by saying “business before pleasure”, you’re saying your financial or work obligations take precedence over your enjoyment. I wanted to like her so badly, wanted to believe her posts were inspiring people to live their best and most carbon-neutral lives. One of my favorite things about Rachel Lynn Solomon’s writing is how relatable her characters are and Chandler and Finn are no exception. She feels an instant zing of attraction with the stranger who plops down next to her and decides a quick hookup is just what she needs—leading to some truly awkward and uncomfortable sex (“This man has no idea where the clitoris is”).

Swoony, steamy, heart-wrenching, and healing, this story will hug your heart long after the last page. All I got was stressy 'n depressy confessions wherein they talked AT each other instead of TO each other. Her next assignment is yet another celebrity memoir, this one written with Finn Walsh, known mostly for playing the nerdy character in a werewolf drama with a cult following.Chandler honestly needs the money, and yes, she’s definitely attracted to Finn, so she takes the job, travelling from convention to convention with him. This is my essay on the topic of ”Sometimes I’m fine” – Reading sex scenes as a sex repulsed asexual. Romantic, hilarious, sizzling, and heartfelt, Rachel Lynn Solomon’s latest has taken its place as my new favorite romcom. Reeling from that interaction, and rejection from her longtime crush, Wyatt, she meets a hot guy at a bar and does something she’s never done before–has a one night stand.

Following a signing for a book she wrote for a celebrity influencer, where the “author” doesn’t even recognize her, she drowns her sorrows at a nearby bar. Because then there was Maddy, and the book I just finished for a TikTok-famous personal trainer with his own line of protein shakes that really stretches the definition of literature. This book was funny, engaging and managed to handle these intimacy lessons in a really informative way, without making the book feel like a lecture.

I also loved how real the actors in it felt, like Rachel knows a C or a B list actor/actress and has inside scoop because it was just that realistic.
