And the word of the LORD came unto him, saying, Get thee hence, and turn thee eastward, and hide thyself by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan. And it shall be, that thou shalt drink of the brook; and I have commanded the ravens to feed thee there.” If we would speak forth the truths God has shown us, just like Elijah, the truths we speak would ultimately prevail. A Place Called Here is Irish writer Cecelia Ahern's fourth novel, published in 2006. The book was entitled "There's No Place Like Here" in the United States. Arriving on the planet Cashel, the Tenth Doctor witnesses a strange masked ball. To guarantee peace, Prince Zircon has to choose a bride from the Bog People – dead men and women who have been resurrected as slaves. Or as warriors. But Zircon is in love with the enslaved Princess Ash, whose parents were deposed and executed by the current Queen. As usual, the Doctor has walked right into trouble, and it's up to him to sort it out. Read more Details

The story is about Sandy Shortt, who is something of a misfit. She is extremely tall, for one thing, in sharp contrast to her surname. She is also very logical and organized, and has a compulsion to search for missing things - and people. It all started when her neighbor Jenny-May vanishes when they are both ten years old. We all get lost once in a while, sometimes by choice, sometimes due to forces beyond our control. When we learn what it is our soul needs to learn, the path presents itself. Sometimes we see the way out but wander further and deeper despite ourselves; the fear, the anger or the sadness preventing us returning. Sometimes we prefer to be lost and wandering, sometimes it’s easier. Sometimes we find our own way out. But regardless, always, we are found.” There, the pet waits until its human companion dies and is reunited with them in the meadow. Together, they cross the Rainbow Bridge to heaven. Where Did the Rainbow Bridge Idea Come From? For animals that did not have an owner, it’s assumed they go straight to heaven and that the Rainbow Bridge is meant for pets who wish to cross together with their still-alive human companion. And, honestly, how a person can be missing? It's the 21st Century: there are cameras at every corner of the street, everyone has a cell phone, and there are tv programs and sometimes even the national news. For me, it's inconceivable that someone can go for a walk one day and then go missing for fifty or more years.Tapi buku-buku yang disuguhkan Cecelia Ahern begitu nyata. Begitu logis. Sehingga tidak ada pilihan lain bagi si pembaca. Atau kalaupun ada, si pembaca tidak dapat membuat kisah yang sama menariknya dengan yang ditulis Ceceu Lia. The term is believed to have originated in several works of poetry from the 1980s and 1990s that were meant to help relieve deceased pet owners of the pain of their loss.

Share Over the course of several years, the term Rainbow Bridge has become synonymous with animal lovers who have lost a pet. He is one of the few people who knows about Sandy's secrets (Sandy running a missing persons agency, that her things are going missing, etc.). He is known to have an infectious high-pitch laugh. We all get lost once in a while, sometimes by choice, sometimes due to forces beyond our control. But regardless, always, we are found.” I can only assume that there’s only one thing more frustrating than not being able to find someone, and that’s not being found. I would want someone to find me, more than anything.” I tried to explain again. 'Perhaps it would have been easier if I said that not being able to find something is like suddenly not remembering the words to your favourite song that you knew off by heart. It's like suddenly forgetting the name of someone you know really well and see every day, or the name of a group who sang a famous song. It's something so frustrating that it plays on your mind over and over again because you know there's an answer but no one can tell you it. It niggles and niggles at me and I can't rest until I know the answer.' Rather than the typical route of a Cecelia Ahern story, A Place Called Here is less focused on the romantic side of the narrative and more on the actual story which revolves around the idea of what happens to missing things, the obsessive nature of people and the driving force behind it. Sandy's obsession with finding things has stemmed from her experience surrounding the disappearance of Jenny-May and losing things as a child, a natural fear. And while the narrative follows Sandy's story on how she overcomes these obsessions, it also has the underlying subtext of what it must be like to be a relative of someone who goes missing without a trace.

I rate it a bold five stars out of five. The book hit closer to eight years ago when finding my lost toys was everything I had to my name. And I wouldn't call that 'sentimental bias' or anything. I treasure everything that I have a hundred times more when it's missing. Many of us have been intimidated by the ungodly. We aren’t boldly speaking the truth we have from the Lord. What if Elijah hadn’t spoken that prophecy to King Ahab? The drought may have occurred anyway, but Elijah wouldn’t have been able to use it to affect the nation. The people would have dismissed the drought as a natural occurrence. And what about all the other missing people trapped in 'Here'? Why didn't they get found too? Clearly, a lot of people trapped there, Bobby especially, wanted to get out and return home to their family and friends. Why was Sandy the only one that returned home? Cecelia Ahern is an Irish-born writer born on September 30, 1981 in Dublin, Ireland. She is best known for her popular novels such as A Place Called Here, Thanks for the Memories, and P.S., I Love You, and for producing the American situation comedy Samantha Who? Her works have been published in nearly 50 countries. At first, I thought the author was trying to use a metaphor: “some people vanish with no reason but, in reality, it’s because they lose themselves first” or something like that. But probably I read too much into this since the beginning. There's no big message under Sandy’s story, only a poor explanation and poor editing for the tragedy of having a loving person missing.
