About this deal

So if you are backpacking, bikepacking or riding on a motorcycle, you probably don’t want to have this beast with you. If you have any experience with the Coleman Camp Oven or a recipe that would be great in an outdoor oven, leave a comment below.

I know from experience of using that oven/stove combination that on a summer's day I'd have to throttle the burner to a little over a simmer to keep the oven thermometer from going off the scale. I'd not use one over a canister stove due to potential overheating the butane canister but I have used them over a Nova and a 413G Coleman twin burner. Pour the yeasty fluid inside the crater of the ‘volcano’ and slowly stir with one finger trying to leave the salt untouched for as long as possible. I lay an oven thermometer on top of oven and can see it through hole of parka, gets to 425 degrees in 15 mins.

Getting back to the oven itself, let's take a look at a few of the great features, along with more baking tips. The main consideration would be temperature control, which is really important with the Coleman stove because it doesn't have a huge amount of insulation to regulate temperature on its own. Heat indicator really is just a reference, I just wing it using sight, sizzle and smell indicators as John E says the indicator gives a good reference once you get use to how you're using the oven. Just as you, here in Mali its hard to find whole wheat flour, so I am interested in all your recipies. I have never gone camping, but if I had known that “Camping is all about delicious food,” as you said to Wednesday Elf, I might even have been persuaded to brave the biting insects (to whom I am like chocolate cake, lol)!
