About this deal

To me, 'sweet' and 'gourmand' fragrances are the ones that give whiffs akin to the sugar in Pink Sugar, the cotton candy in Baccarat, the honey in Scandal, the caramel in Jessica Simpson's Fancy, the vanilla in Fantasy, the jawbreaker in Flowerbomb/ Prada Candy, etc. Yet, I smelled in it, somewhere there, deep down, something so mmmmmmm, so yummy, so feminine, hence I decided to WAIT, let it macerate. I normally give the spicy apple pie type of fragrance samples to my husband to use up because there is usually a booziness to those scents I like very much, but I prefer them on him. BYREDO is a modern European luxury house founded in 2006 by Ben Gorham, propelled into popularity by its cult fragrance line.

shaking the bottle before use, I'm not too sure why, but I always seem to get that very strong alcohol/nail polish smell at first if I don't shake it. I have this and what I'll say for now is that it is more amber-heavy and a lot less caramel-ly than the OG (which is unfortunate for me because that's the part I love the most! Comparing to Nobile 1942-La Danza Delle Libellule, which opens with a very fresh green apple note, that is also very sweet (but not syrupy sweet) and it's incredibly beautiful too, but the dry down is almost exactly the same as Casablanca, but without the amber in it.

This perfume is pure spice for me, so much that I actually had to wash it off after 20mins of giving it a chance. Not a bad fragrance, blind bought because of the good reviews and allegedly being a beast mode fragrance but I had a €7 body mist from Lilly - Paris Vanilla by AQC and it smells almost identical, the leather note is what differs but the sillage and longevity are kind of the same.

It gives me the same vibe and there's a richest to the caramel which comes across as bourbon vanilla. Upon first spray my first thought was this smells almost identical to Kayali Vanilla 28 (which I love)! It's cozy and slightly edgy and quite different to my usual tastes—not incredibly groundbreaking but I actually really like it. Refreshing citrus notes of lemon and grapefruit join with aromatic cardamom to lead you into this cool yet spicy scent.

I can't say I want to smell like I've bathed in raw sugar, as I appreciate fragrant sweetness (honey, caramel, cotton candy etc), but this is even below that minimum threshold. I’m getting that malted vanilla scent that makes Dama Bianca unique, except Casablanca is more woodsy!

Casablanca opens with a soft, (not pointed) sour sweetness, which is why "apple" and "grape" are good associations. My holy grail for the end of Oct 21 is Sweetie Aoud or maybe I’ll be more reasonable and go for Spiritueuse Double Vanille Guerlain.

Our team has attempted to create near matches, to well known fragrances, but all scents are subjective. I own vanilla woods and it reminds me a lot of that perfume just stronger and get more of the suede I believe. I am also greeted every day at work by an employee of the airport, accompanied by a small bow and prayerful hands carried before me.Now THIS is for people with a sweet tooth (or three) And maybe if you like me don't eat sweets, but still like it, then why not wear it? This intense heartbeat quickens until it is a steady, golden drum of sensual musk, deep, sweet balsams and a golden sunset of amber.
