and yet upon release, the howls of derision that greeted the film from the most ardent sections of Halloween fandom (full disclosure: myself included) let Blumhouse (the film’s producers), Green and Curtis know that they had singularly failed to deliver on any of their hype or on their promises.

They didn’t deliver a film that satisfied on its most base reason for existence – to be an entertaining slasher film, pure and simple Universal Pictures is set to release the Halloween Ends 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray & DVD this January 2023 in the UK. Halloween Ends ends up looking very good on Blu-ray. The 1080p transfer is solid top to bottom, with the only eyesore some source noise that No Place Like Haddonfield (1080p, 7:49): Exploring how this film looks at some of the nooks and crannies around Haddonfield and how revealing, and well capable of delivering an image as expected of this style in 2022. Even in lower light viewers will see the wear on Myers' mask andAs Corey gets most of the screen time, this leads the film to an unexcitingly bland final showdown between iconic final girl Jamie Lee Curtis and The Shape. If we'd gotten to know Corey earlier, the focus on him could have meant more, but as a late-in-the-game pinch-hitter killer, he misses the ball. While Laurie and Corey get the most character care and attention, Allyson is frustratingly pushed to the side. After playing a strong and interesting character in the last two films, she just sorta sits there as a passive and irrational plot device instead of someone with an arc.

To make matters worse though, Halloween Ends doesn't cover Michael Myers whatsoever, but rather a guy named Corey, who is babysitting a rotten child he accidentally kills in the first scene. It's clear from here that Corey might take on the mantle of the new Michael Myers label. His run-ins with the townspeople and even his own mother are a horror story where everyone is comically mean and rude to him, bearing no resemblance to the real world. It's with this hate that he wants to inherit Myers's power somehow, but his crush on Laurie's granddaughter has him thinking twice. masked slasher, especially for the low reward that turns out for the high risk of building up Corey. The film is nowhere near as gruesome as itsagain be slashing through Haddonfield (though hopefully not outer space) on the silver screen once again in the future when some filmmaker

Four years after the events of last year’s Halloween Kills, Laurie is living with her granddaughter Allyson and is finishing writing her memoir. Michael Myers hasn’t been seen since. Laurie, after allowing the specter of Michael to determine and drive her reality for decades, has decided to liberate herself from fear and rage and embrace life. But when a young man, Corey Cunningham, is accused of killing a boy he was babysitting, it ignites a cascade of violence and terror that will force Laurie to finally confront the evil she can’t control, once and for all. franchise? Sure, it might very well bring this current trilogy of reboot/sequel films to a close -- it follows on the popular Halloween and Halloween Kills -- but really is this the very end of the Ultimately, the film on its own has merits – a solid cast, handsome production values, another great John and Cody Carpenter score and some interesting themes being explored. But in terms of delivering what was very clearly promised, on what has been talked up by Green, Curtis et al for years now, the trilogy and this film in particular cannot help but disappoint, even with the weight of those heady expectations removed.

The film is relatively slow. It's nearly an hour before Michael gets going and the bodies start to mount. That's a lot of exposition for a film about a The Criterion Collection confirms that Ridley Scott's Thelma & Louise is getting a 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray release in the UK. Top of the box office charts for 2023, and by some distance, is The Super Mario Bros Movie, the spiritual successor to the 1993 live action version. Sort of.What to Watch's Halloween Ends review calls it an "abysmal whimper" to end the recent trilogy, and we're not alone. As of October 14, the movie has a score of 43%, which classifies it as "Rotten," on Rotten Tomatoes. It's not any better over at Metacritic, where Halloween Ends scores a 45. Ending Halloween (1080p, 8:26): Exploring the franchise's evolution and reaching the final climactic showdown between Halloween Ends slices up 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray with a two-disc 4K UHD + Blu-ray + Digital set. The 4K version is pressed on a BD-100 with the 1080p offering up a BD-50 disc. The discs are housed in a two-disc case with slipcover artwork.
