It makes it easy to connect wireless headphones to your phone, connect your phone to your TV, tablet, speaker and more. The Motorola environment itself does have some useless and annoying features, but all of which can be disabled.

The battery, which was the main draw of the phone for me, seems to last just fine for now (touch wood). It is a number of cores that plays an important role in evaluating the performance of phone as it is responsible for computing operations. It’s not new but I particularly like the double karate chop gesture to turn the flash light on and Peek Display means you can long-press on notifications on the lockscreen to preview them.Billion old devices were thrown away last year, with a huge chunk of those heading straight to landfill - even when there’s plenty of use left in the device’s hardware. Storage is set at 64 GB, but you have the choice between two colour variants: Mineral Grey and Baby Blue.

Elsewhere the Moto G31 is available from many third-party retailers as well as direct from Motorola. In fact, if you haven’t had a budget phone in a while, you wouldn’t think this was one at first glance.It’s almost at the top of the frame and hard to reach – I didn’t use it much at all – but summons the Google Assistant. They have the advantage of a large display area that allows you to see more content than with conventional display sizes. A 5,000mAh battery also proves useful, as it's reasonably long-lasting, but don't count on speedy charging. Portrait mode is available for rear and front cameras and even allows you to adjust the level of depth with a handy slider – results vary though and you’ll need good lighting to get the best out of it. This isn’t a flashy phone, but one that largely gets the job done if you set your expectations appropriately.
