I don't usually go for sports romance but my dear friend Sanzida recommended this book to me and said I would like it, so I tried it. She is in a coffee house when she watches Ryan struggle with his computer and she ends up helping him. It’s sweet and adorable and precious and dark and angsty and emotional – it might be quicker for me just to say that it was a bit of an emotional roller-coaster ride by the end. Oddly, it was followed by a 'bonus' chapter or second epilogue, which I just plain disliked, because it was almost like reading porn. star read for me till I got to the epilogue, which was a disappointment, as it seemed to be just a setup for the next book, about Mica. I had to stop reading for a bit when he first tries to blackmail because I was afraid Zoey would cave and this blackmail stuff would last a while. The female narration, while it was better, really lacked in relaying the emotions … so a bit robotic maybe?

I enjoyed this story but I didn’t feel the heat and attraction between Ryan and Zoey like I did in the first book and because it was such a slow burn at times it became a bit monotonous. The premise sounded so interesting: She helps him with his taxes in a cafe because she's good at accounting, she misses her deadline to enter a shelter, he feels bad (rightly so) and offers her his place to crash.He trusted Zoey's judgement on things and he barely knew her, which I am not sure many people would do.
