About this deal

These are just a series of quick pieces that give us a close up look at each puppet as they appear in the finished movie and how they appear in real life. A new Atmos mix is similarly overwhelming, though its strengths are rarely about pure volume and more about the increased separation and clarity of the many overlapping sounds.

Creepy Coraline“ (5 minutes, 3 seconds – HD) was previously included on the original 2009 Blu-ray release. That extended faceoff with the Other Mother, and Coraline’s attempt to liberate the souls of the ghost children whom she meets in the limbo behind a mirror, keep the story flying high when it threatens to flag into minor-league creepy whimsy. The story follows the titular young woman (voiced by Dakota Fanning) who moves up into a remote part of Oregon into an apartment with her mother (Teri Hatcher) and father (John Hodgeman). Shout Factory, in association with Laika, will release SteelBook 4K Blu-ray editions of Coraline (2009) and ParaNorman (2012). I saw the movie three times in theaters because I figured this would be the last time the movie would ever be watchable in 3D ever again. The boy’s name is short for “Wyborne” which is a pretty cruel name as even our protagonist quickly jokes.

Sure, this story as a movie could have been done in CG animation but it would have never been as cool as it was in stop-motion. An evil monster who manipulates and controls events to lure unsuspecting children in and then steal away their life as she sucks them dry.from the somewhat labored storytelling, keeping total focus on the majestic needlework visuals Selick portions out by the shovelful. The release retains the remarkable supplemental package previously released on the Blu-ray Special Edition from Shout Factory. So when you get an entire feature film made in that painstakingly slow process I get pretty excited!

Talking of which, the score is extremely well realised, almost clinical in its preciseness, the twang of the guitar, or chimes, or the choir singing really placing you in the centre of things. Laika and Shout Factory will bring to Blu-ray four acclaimed animated films: Coraline (2009), The Boxtrolls (2014), ParaNorman (2012), and Kubo and the Two Strings (2016).It's Alive" (3:19), "I've Seen Fire and I've Seen Fog" (4:01), "The Eyes Have It" (3:20), and "Wrapping Up" (2:03). The Making of Coraline - A series of ten individual featurettes that can be watched in one chunk with the play all function. This added with the animation of the puppet, especially the changing costumes to express the far more arachnid aspect of other mother, and you have a very sinister character.
