About this deal

The SteelSeries are more comfortable to wear for long gaming sessions, have a better control scheme, and have a slightly better-balanced sound profile.

My ears do warm up a bit in the first few minutes of use, but fortunately they don’t keep going until they explode. The SteelSeries are also Bluetooth-compatible, which means you can stream music from your phone while playing on consoles. We've retested 'Feedback' in the Controls test as we felt that the original 'subpar' result was too harsh. With the A10 plugged into the headphone jack of an LG UltraGear GP9 speaker providing a DTS Headphone:X audio mix, Fortnite had much more accurate directional panning. The cable is removable, and it’s quite similar to the cable that comes with the A40s, but a bit more springy.

The HyperX are more comfortable, are better built, and have a more neutral sound profile, which some users may prefer. However, the originals have a better overall microphone performance as their mic sits closer to your mouth. The microphone performance of these two headsets is very similar, but the recording quality of the Astro is a bit better. Razer Blackshark V2 has an even better microphone, and includes a USB sound card that enables THX Spatial Audio and many other convenient options. Astro has made a really fun headset here, with a sound signature that falls right in line with their more expensive A40. Their microphone quality is much better than the Logitech's, and they feel much more sturdy and durable. For full audio and microphone compatibility, you can plug these headphones into your PC, PlayStation, or Xbox controller.

This is a Switch-focused gaming headset, but using the mic with a Switch just isn’t practical—though admittedly a big part of that is down the console’s particular hardware limits. As the outstanding balance, plus the interest now form part of your payable balance they will attract interest at your account rate, meaning you will pay interest on interest. However, the Astro are simple wired headphones that work with most consoles via analog connection, so you might prefer them if you want straightforward headphones for gaming. However, the A20 have a better-balanced sound profile and a companion app that lets you EQ the sound. While both headphones are comfortable, the HyperX have a significantly better boom mic performance, and they're able to reproduce low-bass with more thump and rumble. You're less likely to hear it when listening to content with more varied frequencies, like music, especially since the rest of the range falls within good limits, resulting in clear and pure audio reproduction.

It’s available in Red, Blue, and Green versions that have specific primary platforms listed…but all three will work with any device that has a 3. Normally you’d be missing out on surround sound for a game like Fortnite, but Fortnite doesn’t even support the feature on Switch in the first place. If you’re serious about podcasting or general content creation, we recommend getting a dedicated USB microphone. The Astro A10 is a wired, analog gaming headset, which means it works with every major game console (through the controllers on the PlayStation 4/5 and Xbox One/Series, and the Nintendo Switch in handheld mode), PC or Mac, and any phone with a headphone jack.
