The Peak Design Everyday Sling 5L feels nicely balanced on my shoulder and its rigidity gives me a lot of confidence in opening it without spilling all of my gear on to the ground while walking. It's better in several ways too, no metal, the leather pad is a better shoulder cushion, and the slider mechanism is more akin to the pricey Artisan & Artist straps than Peak's... It can be slid along most of the strap so there's only one, Peak's dual sliders are more cumbersome and unless you adjust both you throw the padding off center. The build quality on the Everyday Sling is top-notch.The attachment points for the strap feel strong and give a sense of being over engineered, which is great, because it doesn’t feel as though they’d ever tear or give way. I can fit my Sony A7iii with my Samyang 35mm f/1.4 lens , spare batteries, and an assortment of other little things I may need during that day. If I didn't switch it around often for a wrist strap or hadn't bought it first tho, I'd totally be using the Slim Strap.

Actually, Custom SLR came out with a design that's directly equivalent to Peak's just last month, it's called the Slim Strap... I feel that the Everyday Sling is a perfect balance of all of the above. It’s not a bulky or an over padded build. It feels purposefully designed – and it fits that so wonderfully. It’s suitable for a camera with maybe one or two lenses. At least, this will leave enough breathing room if you shoot with an APS-C or full-frame camera. If you use a smaller camera system, such as Micro Four Thirds, you’ll be able to fit more. 6L For a small kit such as this, the three-litre capacity of the Everyday Sling is perfect. All in, the Sling and camera kit weighs only 1.5kg.
