He stole it fifteen years ago, after which, he was imprisoned, now he has the chance to get it back and escape for good.

They would also only drop off a case of books and leave us to run it – it was so lovely to have you on hand to chat to the children and recommend them books, as well as the small (but appreciated! Lily was brave and determined and bossy but I understood her longing to come out of her very protected bubble and see the world.

The surprises kept coming, and the author manages to weave emotion into the proceedings of the story and truly is laudable. Everyday that mechanical elephant walks about the park trumpeting and spraying the passers by with his trunk. Bunzl’s writing again is engaging, fun, and will appeal to readers young and old, so if you are a fan of adventure, science-fiction and steampunk, you should definitely read this. The locations are always wonderfully described, and the characters who are encountered are so well written that you feel you would recognise them in the street! When infamous escapologist Jack Door breaks out from Pentonville Prison, he sets out for the town of Brackenbridge, determined to find his missing treasure – the Moonlocket.

I think that for kids who only have one parent, who are in a similar situation, this will be very relatable. i love how the backstories of the main characters get revealed in this one, and how the mystery goes on. This is a story that can be read as a stand alone, though there are mentions of instances from the first book, it will in no way ruin this story for the reader. The thing that really made me fall in love with this book is its theme of friendship and family, and what it really means, what truly makes us human. An exhilarating adventure full of mystery and intrigue, written with ingenuity and an empathy that touched the heart.I was pleased by the aspect of this book that focuses on him finding his mom and I also believe that Robert dealing with the grief of losing his Da was realistic.

These books are meant for children, and I so wish I could have read them as a child because everything would have been even more thrilling; I cannot wait for the next adventure.Peter grew up in London in a rambling Victorian house with 3 cats, 2 dogs, 1 little sister, an antique dealer dad and an artist mum. The pair, plus sarcastic mechanical fox Malkin, find themselves plunged into another adventure taking in the darkest corners of Victoriana London. You guys are such a force for good and I am a passionate supporter of Indie booksellers, so I'm so happy this worked out well (I'd love to know how many books were sold if you have it to hand - it felt like quite a lot!

In this book, we follow Lily and Robert as they make their way through a steampunk London to catch the escapologist Jack Door while also learning about friendship and family. These quotes feel really relevant and important to me considering what's been happening over the last couple of days, but the second is important and doubly special to me because it is something so deeply true about our current society and I respect Peter for using Lily's difference to make sure children know that it's okay to be different.

Yourself and Bob are much cherished in our booky world and I personally really appreciate everything that you do. Despite that, I enjoyed it, and flew through it - as much as I can these days - so will be interested in reading another book in this series, if there ever is one. I received a copy of this book from the publisher, Jolly Fish Press, and the author via netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
