Description

The Romaleos 3s have a newly designed base, which has a honeycomb-esque structure. Nike created this to limit the amount of material used, while keeping the heel stable and strong. This in return has made the shoe lighter, but just as strong as the previous Romaleos 2 model. When you flipthe shoe over you can seea cool aesthetic feature Nike added, which is the shoe’s color scheme visibility throughthe honeycomb structure. Nike Romaleos 3 Heel Construction Heavier build: The TPU midsole covers a larger area with a higher density. This should enhance the support by cementing your feet to the ground. Similar to the Nike Romaleos 2, the 3s come with two soles, one being stiffer than the other. The lighter sole gives the Romaleos 3s a weight of 13 oz, while the stiffer sole comes out to 15 oz. This is a cool feature for an athlete who has a particular feeling they like when moving weight. And instead of the diagonal lines we saw on the 3’s, Nike opted for a clear plastic cover that looks way cooler. The Winner: The Romaleos 4 As the name suggests, the Romaleos 3 XD came to correct the serious durability issues of their predecessors. Nike replaced the flimsy mesh with perforated leather to improve the performance without impacting breathability. And thankfully, things worked out well this time. The Romaleos 4

Generally speaking, all the color schemes deliver satisfying contrast by varying the colors of the support straps and the Swoosh. Here are the currently available colors: In terms of a winner per this comparison, we felt the Reebok Legacy Lifter took the win for their heavier construction. In addition, the Reebok Legacy Lifter’s upper strap has an area to put the laces, so the laces of the shoe don’t get ruined by progressive velcro usage. Nike Romaleos 3 To complement the lighter build, Nike built the original 3’s from thin leather that takes minimal time to break in. Nike released the SE’s as wider alternatives for the originals. They’ll suit people who have wide feet with large toe splay. Winner: Tie

Similar to the Nike Romaleos 2 model, this liftercomes with two different soles, which influence the shoe’s final weight. If you’re using the soft sole, then the shoe will weigh around 13 oz, while the harder sole equates toabout 15 oz. Both shoes are equipped with sturdy TPU midsoles that don’t compress under the heftiest weights. However, Nike has done some important changes in the design. The Romaleos 3 Nike’s signature weightlifting shoe is incredibly popular, and we’d be surprised if the company did away with the basic design and “Power Bridge” support altogether.

Both of these shoes are great options for the strength athlete looking to enhance their performance with a lifter. These shoes offer similar heel heights and come at a very competitive price with each other. What set them apart in our eyes was the durability aspect. No matter how strong the laces are, the support straps will always be mandatory. By squeezing your feet inside the shoes, they allow you to safely lift heavier weights.
