So if you’re purely looking at price, then choosing Brut Splash On will be the best option for you. 2. Function From giving it a whirl lately, I can say it still smells pretty much the same although a bit tamer than I remember. Performance wise is about the usual for EDT-concentrations of this age. In actual fact, both scents are made up of similar notes, it is simply the differing alcohol content that causes them to be experienced in different ways. As explained above, the Brut aftershave seems to give off a stronger scent at first, leading people to assume that it simply contains a higher fragrance concentration than the Brut Splash On. Today I received my 88ml bottle, the glass one, with the vintage aspect. You (he or she) may very well be laughing and know that I will not sleep tonight of preocupation (LoL - just kidding - lets say I care for what u think). Well, some scents have some meaning just because are related to some very specific period of life, and as for my case its associated to my last year of college. With 16 I used to take the Brut Deodorant from my father. And from that time I just have good memories. Ok, not many girls that time so I can't talk about any seductive aspect (in fact, I never thought in that way, not that time and even not today - I just like the way it smells - maybe by fault of those memories).

Brut Splash On, on the other hand, does not contain any menthol, so doesn’t have these same properties, but some men may still choose to use it as an aftershave. 2. Alcohol Content The higher alcohol content together with the propylene glycol in the splash on essentially means that the Brut Splash On is likely to last longer on the skin compared with the Brut Aftershave, which contains less alcohol. However, the amount of fragrance in each of these products is another similarity between the Brut Splash On and Brut Aftershave. 3. The Bottle DesignRemember, the exact price you’ll pay depends on where you are in the world, but the following are pretty reasonable estimates.

In the 70's, we had full strength Brut in the glass bottle, and Brut 33 which was a watered down version of regular Brut and came in plastic. The "33" designation meant that it contained 33%, or 1/3rd of essence strength of the Glass bottle version. There was Cologne, Aftershave and Lotion in the glass. The Lotion was basically a "33" edition of the Cologne- a watered down edition. Now, the 33 line contained Cologne, Aftershave and Splash On Lotion. The Splash On was its own unique formulation, being that it couldn't be a 33% version of something (glass bottle Lotion) that was already watered down to 33%, so Faberge concocted a mild, cheap formula that basically muted the topnotes found in the original Brut and concentrated on the cheap, powdery goodness that is Brut Splash On.However, in theory, this also means that the scent is likely to not last as long as the Brut Splash On. Now that you know the differences between these two Brut products, there are some things to consider before deciding which one to buy. 1. Budget For this reason, it may be less suitable as an aftershave compared with Brut AS which has a slightly lower alcohol content. My first memories of perfume (or anything else) take me to a long time ago, I remember just a few things of that time, and one is that green plastic bottle of Brut. It was designed to be shaken with energy, so a few drops reach you. My father never liked any perfume, so the bottle became some kind of toy to me. The memory of the ylang-ylang - sandalwood chord still make me feel good.

There's a very soft but pronounced muskyness with a very thin green tone underneath, that wraps the whole composition, this musky blanket is the soul of great BRUT. When I was young and foolish, I used to give Brut and any similar priced fragrance a wide berth, cause I was kinda embarassed to admit that I was wearing cheap stuff. I always went for the status of smelling "expensive", and to my vainglorious mind, a fragrance's price tag was way more important than its actual quality. On the other hand, if you aren't planning to wear a fragrance after you apply your aftershave, I suppose one could look in the other direction and ask "what shave soaps can I use that don't clash with BRUT?" The answer is simple: it smells OK after most barbershop soaps, though the only pairing I found that really made me go WOW was SBS Picture Day. But you know what would be an even better choice? Those same soaps followed by a good unscented balm and a spritz of BRUT Cologne. For that like and still wear Brut, what's your favorite version of it?
