Renee: Renee: As with Jeremy, this is my first Triumph. I had no idea what to expect. My note about the ride after my first run was “buttery smooth.” Like all Saucony shoes, the fit is perfect for my feet. I wear a women’s size 8 in my Saucony trail and roadsshoes, and the sizing and fit is similar in the Triumph as compared to other models. The fit and feel is comfortable throughout. My only caveat about the shoes is the weight. My shoes weighed 8.75oz (right) and 9.03oz (left), which is a big difference in weight between shoes in my women’s size 8. At that weight, the Triumph 19 is beyond a daily trainer and exclusively a long, easy/slow day shoe for me. That’s not a negative, just my note on usage. On the flip side of that issue, the shoes run well on pavement and gravel/light trail, providing a good amount of cushion and durability. Although it’s technically a heavy shoe, on par with other luxe trainers like the Brooks Glycerin 19 and Altra Paradigm 6, the Triumph rides light and bouncy. Giving it that energetic sensation is a Pwrrun+ midsole and top sole, introduced in the shoe’s 17th version. Pwrrun+ foam is 28 percent lighter than the Saucony’s original Pwrrun; it’s supportive for easy long runs, and responsive during tempo runs and workouts. “The Triumph 19 feels like running on big, spongy paws,” raved one tester who typically runs in Asics Gel-Kayanos. “Like a Kayano, they’re somewhat stiff and solid, but also nicely soft.” The result of the Saucony Triumph 19’s soft, responsive cushioning is a smooth and lively ride. Runners appreciate this shoe’s flexibility and energy return, which few competitors can boast at this level of comfort. Jeremy: Marketed as a faster shoe, I think that those two fit the same purpose of long distance responsive comfort.

Cut in half: Saucony Triumph 19 Review (2023) | RunRepeat

I have to admit that I may have been wrong all these years about the Triumph and wished I had stepped into this a bit sooner. The Triumph is definitely not something that’s going to blow your mind, but it will give a runner comfort for miles and miles. The Triumph 19 continues the Saucony’s streak of comfortable, plush and effective uppers for me, at least in their road shoe department. The Triumph clearly stands up to its reputation of a long distance slipper and I really cannot see something bad to mention about the upper of the shoe. Light, supportive but unobtrusive, I still feel some “foot freedom” which is something I value a lot.One gripe, there’s a bit of heel slip thanks to the extremely stiff heel counter. I just don’t love stiff heel counters, but it’s amply padded and although there was some movement it didn’t cause any hot spots or adverse rubbing. Cadillac of running shoes Founded in 1898, Saucony traces its early roots to the banks of the Saucony Creek in Pennsylvania, inspiring the Saucony logo which represents the endless flow of that waterway. Three decades on since its first product award in 1977 for innovative design, the running industry continues to recognise its advanced design performance and technical leadership with numerous awards from Runner’s World magazine, helping to propel it into the league of elite running footwear. Personal: A- (This will be in my easy day rotation, will be great cooldown shoes, but will not be my first choice for easy days with strides) This sole I found to have a nice density to it, and by that I mean it’s not Mushy. It is definitely not by any definition the softest midsole available but fits comfortably between firm responsiveness and a soft pillow feel. They are very comfortable with just the right amount of cushioning for any distance and terrain.

Saucony Triumph 19 Review | 2022 Best Cushioned Running Shoes

It’s not a race shoe and won’t instill confidence to run lightning-fast splits, it’s not the Endorphin Speed or Pro, but it’s smooth as butter and consistent under every step. The Saucony Triumph is a plush, cushioned shoe meant for recovery days, long slow days, and joyfully cruising mile after mile. It’s always been all about comfort with this shoe for nearly two decades, but v19 gets a thoughtful update. Although designed for all kinds of paces (from recovery runs to uptempo sessions), the majority of testers consider it more suitable for daily training and long runsthan for speed workouts.Renee: Like Jeremy, I do not often like high-cushioned, soft road shoes. The Triumph does not feel mushy, and the overall cushion helps with comfort during long runs. The weight makes the shoe a slower/easy day shoe for me, and I do not get responsiveness from the ride/midsole, which is fine for its usage. The ride is “buttery smooth” and traditional on pavement and relatively smooth on dirt/gravel. Adding to the padding is a removable 4.6mm plush insole just extenuating the shoe’s soft landing feel. It has a wide, stable platform at 114.4mm under the forefoot and 90.7mm in the heel which is slightly above average (113.0mm/89.5mm).

ROBBE: Like I said above, this shoe isn’t going to wow you. Which is fine, but if you’ve been tantalized by some of the Endorphin line, just don’t think you’re getting that same feeling from this PWRRUN+ midsole. It’s a bit soft, which provides that cushion and comfort, but you’re sacrificing pop and performance.

The reviewers who tried the T19 are unanimous on the subject: there’s nothing to complain about this simple and effective outsole. The grip is excellent on its favorite playground, the asphalt, and even wet pavement after a good heavy rain. It also works very well on dry trails or gravel roads.

Saucony Triumph 19 Review Analysis (2021): Should You Get It? Saucony Triumph 19 Review Analysis (2021): Should You Get It?

The Saucony Triumph 19 is a comfortable daily trainer for comfortable longer runs at easy to moderate paces. The midsole cushioning delivers a moderately soft ride, while the new upper is a game-changer by significantly reducing the shoe’s weight. The little plus appreciated by users: the vertical reflective cage in the heel for safe night runs. That’s all the upper letting light through. And if light is getting through, you can imagine how much air passes through as well. Shoe is a very smooth ride on flats, or down hill runs. Problem is when running hilly terrain, or whenever landing on the front foot pads; the soft squishy sole under those pads is too soft, causing for an uncomfortable ride.If you want something that’s just about comfort and ease, and not about speed this is a great option. At the rear, the heel counter is rigid and padded, while the heel collar provides a snug fit for a soft foothold. The gusseted tongue is less padded than on the previous version (presumably to shave some more weight), but it doesn’t impact the comfort.
